Cutting-edge AI that listens to and corrects your recitation

Tilawa has built its own AI for Quran recitation, trained on thousands of recitations. It listens to you word by word and spots skipped or mispronounced words and missed tajweed rules. Omar and Noor, your tutors, then explain each correction, drawing on the Quran and verified Islamic sources, and answer your questions.

An AI trained to listen to the Quran

We have built a cutting-edge AI designed for one thing: listening to Quran recitation. It has been trained on thousands of recitations, with different voices, accents and paces, to recognise each word as it is recited, with its rules.

While you recite, it follows your voice live: the words light up as you read, across all 114 surahs. At the end, it compares each word with the expected recitation, rule by rule, and gives you its correction.

1You reciteMic open: the words light up, a slip is marked in its place.

2Your correctionWord by word, rule by rule, with the right word to listen to.

3Your tutor talks it throughOn a video call, out loud. You ask your questions.

What it corrects

Omar and Noor: a real AI that understands you and answers

After your recitation, the conversation goes on. Omar and Noor understand your question, typed or spoken, and answer like a tutor: the meaning of a verse, a tajweed rule, a difficult word, the surah to recite next.

You can also talk to them out loud, on a video call, right after your recitation: they tell you what went well and what to work on, then answer your questions.

Answers grounded in the Quran and real sources

A general-purpose chatbot can make up a reference or quote a verse wrongly. Omar and Noor rely on a library of verified Islamic sources: the Quran, its tafsir, the hadith collections, the sirah and rulings from recognised institutions.

The verses they show you are read from the verified text of the Madani Mushaf, never written from memory, and a hadith comes with its reference.

A companion to your muʿallim, not a replacement

Tilawa is not meant to replace a real tajweed muʿallim. Nothing replaces a teacher who listens to you, corrects you and passes on the recitation.

Tilawa is a complementary tool, to practise at home every day, between two lessons, and move forward faster from one lesson to the next.

Like any AI, it can make mistakes, especially in a noisy room. And for a question of religious practice, the imam of your mosque or a recognised institution remains the reference.
