Ramadan 2027 (1448 AH) is expected to begin on Monday, February 8, 2027, according to the Umm al-Qura calendar. The actual date depends on the sighting of the crescent moon in your country and may differ by a day. It is the month of fasting and of the Quran, with its last ten nights and Laylat al-Qadr.
When does Ramadan 2027 start?
According to the Umm al-Qura calendar, the first day of fasting falls on Monday, February 8, 2027 and Eid al-Fitr on Tuesday, March 9, 2027. Each country, or each mosque, confirms the date by sighting the moon: check with your mosque.

Ramadan, the month of the Quran
Many read the whole Quran during the month: one juz a day is enough. Others listen, or learn a surah. Every portion counts.
Ramadan is the month in which the revelation of the Quran began, as verse 185 of Surah Al-Baqarah says. Verse 2:185 in Surah Al-Baqarah
Every night of Ramadan, the angel Jibril met the Prophet ﷺ and went over the Quran with him.
The last ten nights and Laylat al-Qadr
The last ten nights begin on the evening of Saturday, February 27, 2027. Laylat al-Qadr is sought in the odd nights of that period.
When the last ten nights of Ramadan came, the Prophet ﷺ strove harder, spent the night in worship and woke his family.
Tarawih, the prayer of Ramadan nights
Every evening after the isha prayer, many mosques recite part of the Quran, often one juz a night to complete it within the month.
