Memorize Juz ʿAmma in 30 days
A day-by-day plan, from the shortest surahs up to An-Naba
Juz ʿAmma is the 30th juz of the Quran: 37 surahs, from An-Naba (78) to An-Nas (114), or 1 h 01 min of listening with al-Husary. This plan starts with the shortest surahs, at the end of the juz, and works back to An-Naba. Each day: a new portion, then revision of the days before.

Why start at the end of the juz?
The last surahs are the shortest: a few verses, often recited in prayer. They stick quickly, and every success makes you want to go on.
The split follows the real length of the surahs, counted letter by letter: An-Naba, the longest, has a day of its own; the shortest are grouped in twos or threes.
A typical day
Listen to the day’s portion three times before learning it. Repeat it in small pieces until you can recite it without looking.
Then recite the surahs from the three previous days: that is the recent. Once a week, recite everything you already know: that is the old.
Listen before you learn
The juz 30 page gives each surah with its audio, its verses and its tajweed rules. Keep it open during your plan.
Frequently asked questions
Can you memorize Juz ʿAmma in a month?
Many people do, others take two or three months. The plan gives you one portion a day; if a day is not enough, keep the same portion the next day.
In what order should I memorize Juz ʿAmma?
Most people start with An-Nas and work back towards An-Naba, from the shortest to the longest. That is the order of this plan.
Do I need to read Arabic?
It helps, but listening and transliteration let you start. The path to learning to read is on our dedicated page.
How can I recite from memory and get corrected?
In the Tilawa app, the verses hide and you recite from memory, out loud. The app shows you the words you forgot or swapped. You revise surah by surah, juz by juz.
