Surah Al-Qadr and the odd nights of the last ten
Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Decree, is sought in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan. In 2027, the first of these nights is expected to begin on the evening of Saturday, February 27, 2027, according to the Umm al-Qura calendar. No date is certain. Surah Al-Qadr (97) is devoted to it.

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ
innā 'anzalnāhu fī laylati l-qadr
Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ
wamā 'adrāka mā laylatu l-qadr
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
-
لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ
laylatu l-qadri khayrum min 'alfi shahr
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
tanazzalu l-malā'ikatu war-rūḥu fīhā bi'idhni rabbihim min kulli 'amr
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.

سَلَـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ
salāmun hiya ḥattā maṭlaʿi l-fajr
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
When to seek Laylat al-Qadr in 2027?
Many seek it on the 27th night, but no night is certain: it is sought in all the odd nights.
The Prophet ﷺ asked people to seek Laylat al-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan.

The worth of this night
According to the Prophet ﷺ, whoever spends Laylat al-Qadr in prayer, with faith and hoping for Allah’s reward, has their past sins forgiven.
