ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ فَقَـٰتِلُوٓاْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِۖ إِنَّ كَيْدَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ كَانَ ضَعِيفًا ﴿٧٦﴾
Mot à mot
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
Those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
يُقَـٰتِلُونَ
yuqātilūna
they fight
فِى
fī
in
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
and those
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
who disbelieve
يُقَـٰتِلُونَ
yuqātilūna
they fight
فِى
fī
in
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ
l-ṭāghūti
(of) the false deities
فَقَـٰتِلُوٓا۟
faqātilū
So fight (against)
أَوْلِيَآءَ
awliyāa
(the) friends
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ۖ
l-shayṭāni
(of) the Shaitaan
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
كَيْدَ
kayda
(the) strategy
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ
l-shayṭāni
(of) the Shaitaan
كَانَ
kāna
is
ضَعِيفًا
ḍaʿīfan
weak
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّوٓاْ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٲةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقِتَالُ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ ٱلنَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ أَشَدَّ خَشْيَةًۚ وَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْقِتَالَ لَوْلَآ أَخَّرْتَنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍۗ قُلْ مَتَـٰعُ ٱلدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ وَٱلْأَخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَلَا تُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلاً ﴿٧٧﴾

أَلَمْ
alam
Have not
تَرَ
tara
you seen
إِلَى
ilā
[towards]
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
قِيلَ
qīla
(when) it was said
لَهُمْ
lahum
to them
كُفُّوٓا۟
kuffū
Restrain
أَيْدِيَكُمْ
aydiyakum
your hands
وَأَقِيمُوا۟
wa-aqīmū
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
وَءَاتُوا۟
waātū
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
l-zakata
the zakah
فَلَمَّا
falammā
Then when
كُتِبَ
kutiba
was ordained
عَلَيْهِمُ
ʿalayhimu
on them
ٱلْقِتَالُ
l-qitālu
the fighting
إِذَا
idhā
then
فَرِيقٌۭ
farīqun
a group
مِّنْهُمْ
min'hum
of them
يَخْشَوْنَ
yakhshawna
[they] fear
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsa
the people
كَخَشْيَةِ
kakhashyati
as (they) fear
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
أَوْ
aw
or
أَشَدَّ
ashadda
more intense
خَشْيَةًۭ ۚ
khashyatan
fear
وَقَالُوا۟
waqālū
and they said
رَبَّنَا
rabbanā
Our Lord
لِمَ
lima
why
كَتَبْتَ
katabta
have You ordained
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynā
upon us
ٱلْقِتَالَ
l-qitāla
[the] fighting
لَوْلَآ
lawlā
Why not
أَخَّرْتَنَآ
akhartanā
You postpone (it for) us
إِلَىٰٓ
ilā
to
أَجَلٍۢ
ajalin
a term
قَرِيبٍۢ ۗ
qarībin
near
قُلْ
qul
Say
مَتَـٰعُ
matāʿu
Enjoyment
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
قَلِيلٌۭ
qalīlun
(is) little
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ
wal-ākhiratu
and the Hereafter
خَيْرٌۭ
khayrun
(is) better
لِّمَنِ
limani
for whoever
ٱتَّقَىٰ
ittaqā
fears (Allah)
وَلَا
walā
and not
تُظْلَمُونَ
tuẓ'lamūna
you will be wronged
فَتِيلًا
fatīlan
(even as much as) a hair on a date-seed
أَيْنَمَا تَكُونُواْ يُدْرِككُّمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنتُمْ فِى بُرُوجٍ مُّشَيَّدَةٍۗ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَقُولُواْ هَـٰذِهِۦ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَقُولُواْ هَـٰذِهِۦ مِنْ عِندِكَۚ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَالِ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلْقَوْمِ لَا يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ حَدِيثًا ﴿٧٨﴾
Mot à mot
أَيْنَمَا
aynamā
Wherever
تَكُونُوا۟
takūnū
you be
يُدْرِككُّمُ
yud'rikkumu
will overtake you
ٱلْمَوْتُ
l-mawtu
[the] death
وَلَوْ
walaw
even if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you are
فِى
fī
in
بُرُوجٍۢ
burūjin
towers
مُّشَيَّدَةٍۢ ۗ
mushayyadatin
lofty
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تُصِبْهُمْ
tuṣib'hum
befalls them
حَسَنَةٌۭ
ḥasanatun
any good
يَقُولُوا۟
yaqūlū
they say
هَـٰذِهِۦ
hādhihi
This
مِنْ
min
(is)
عِندِ
ʿindi
from
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
l-lahi
Allah
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تُصِبْهُمْ
tuṣib'hum
befalls them
سَيِّئَةٌۭ
sayyi-atun
any evil
يَقُولُوا۟
yaqūlū
they say
هَـٰذِهِۦ
hādhihi
This
مِنْ
min
(is)
عِندِكَ ۚ
ʿindika
(from) you
قُلْ
qul
Say
كُلٌّۭ
kullun
All
مِّنْ
min
(is)
عِندِ
ʿindi
from
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
l-lahi
Allah
فَمَالِ
famāli
So what (is wrong)
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi
(with) these
ٱلْقَوْمِ
l-qawmi
[the] people
لَا
lā
not
يَكَادُونَ
yakādūna
do they seem
يَفْقَهُونَ
yafqahūna
(to) understand
حَدِيثًۭا
ḥadīthan
any statement
مَّآ أَصَابَكَ مِنْ حَسَنَةٍ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ وَمَآ أَصَابَكَ مِن سَيِّئَةٍ فَمِن نَّفْسِكَۚ وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ لِلنَّاسِ رَسُولاًۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًا ﴿٧٩﴾
Mot à mot
مَّآ
mā
What(ever)
أَصَابَكَ
aṣābaka
befalls you
مِنْ
min
of
حَسَنَةٍۢ
ḥasanatin
(the) good
فَمِنَ
famina
(is) from
ٱللَّهِ ۖ
l-lahi
Allah
وَمَآ
wamā
and whatever
أَصَابَكَ
aṣābaka
befalls you
مِن
min
of
سَيِّئَةٍۢ
sayyi-atin
(the) evil
فَمِن
famin
(is) from
نَّفْسِكَ ۚ
nafsika
yourself
وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ
wa-arsalnāka
And We have sent you
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsi
for the people
رَسُولًۭا ۚ
rasūlan
(as) a Messenger
وَكَفَىٰ
wakafā
and is sufficient
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
Allah
شَهِيدًۭا
shahīdan
(as) a Witness
مَّن يُطِعِ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ ٱللَّهَۖ وَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ فَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا ﴿٨٠﴾
Mot à mot
مَّن
man
(He) who
يُطِعِ
yuṭiʿi
obeys
ٱلرَّسُولَ
l-rasūla
the Messenger
فَقَدْ
faqad
then surely
أَطَاعَ
aṭāʿa
he obeyed
ٱللَّهَ ۖ
l-laha
Allah
وَمَن
waman
and whoever
تَوَلَّىٰ
tawallā
turns away
فَمَآ
famā
then not
أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ
arsalnāka
We (have) sent you
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
over them
حَفِيظًۭا
ḥafīẓan
(as) a guardian
وَيَقُولُونَ طَاعَةٌ فَإِذَا بَرَزُواْ مِنْ عِندِكَ بَيَّتَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى تَقُولُۖ وَٱللَّهُ يَكْتُبُ مَا يُبَيِّتُونَۖ فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلاً ﴿٨١﴾
Mot à mot
وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūna
And they say
طَاعَةٌۭ
ṭāʿatun
(We pledge) obedience
فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
Then when
بَرَزُوا۟
barazū
they leave
مِنْ
min
from
عِندِكَ
ʿindika
you
بَيَّتَ
bayyata
plan by night
طَآئِفَةٌۭ
ṭāifatun
a group
مِّنْهُمْ
min'hum
of them
غَيْرَ
ghayra
other than
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
that which
تَقُولُ ۖ
taqūlu
you say
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
But Allah
يَكْتُبُ
yaktubu
records
مَا
mā
what
يُبَيِّتُونَ ۖ
yubayyitūna
they plan by night
فَأَعْرِضْ
fa-aʿriḍ
So turn (away)
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
from them
وَتَوَكَّلْ
watawakkal
and put (your) trust
عَلَى
ʿalā
in
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahi
Allah
وَكَفَىٰ
wakafā
And sufficient
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
is Allah
وَكِيلًا
wakīlan
(as) a Trustee
أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَۚ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ غَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ لَوَجَدُواْ فِيهِ ٱخْتِلَـٰفًا كَثِيرًا ﴿٨٢﴾
Mot à mot
أَفَلَا
afalā
Then (do) not
يَتَدَبَّرُونَ
yatadabbarūna
they ponder
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ ۚ
l-qur'āna
(on) the Quran
وَلَوْ
walaw
And if
كَانَ
kāna
it had (been)
مِنْ
min
(of)
عِندِ
ʿindi
from
غَيْرِ
ghayri
other than
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
لَوَجَدُوا۟
lawajadū
surely they (would have) found
فِيهِ
fīhi
in it
ٱخْتِلَـٰفًۭا
ikh'tilāfan
contradiction
كَثِيرًۭا
kathīran
much
وَإِذَا جَآءَهُمْ أَمْرٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْنِ أَوِ ٱلْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُواْ بِهِۦۖ وَلَوْ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰٓ أُوْلِى ٱلْأَمْرِ مِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ مِنْهُمْۗ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَٱتَّبَعْتُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ إِلَّا قَلِيلاً ﴿٨٣﴾
Mot à mot
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
جَآءَهُمْ
jāahum
comes to them
أَمْرٌۭ
amrun
a matter
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْأَمْنِ
l-amni
the security
أَوِ
awi
or
ٱلْخَوْفِ
l-khawfi
[the] fear
أَذَاعُوا۟
adhāʿū
they spread
بِهِۦ ۖ
bihi
[with] it
وَلَوْ
walaw
But if
رَدُّوهُ
raddūhu
they (had) referred it
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلرَّسُولِ
l-rasūli
the Messenger
وَإِلَىٰٓ
wa-ilā
and to
أُو۟لِى
ulī
those
ٱلْأَمْرِ
l-amri
(having) authority
مِنْهُمْ
min'hum
among them
لَعَلِمَهُ
laʿalimahu
surely would have known it
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
يَسْتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ
yastanbiṭūnahu
draw correct conclusion (from) it
مِنْهُمْ ۗ
min'hum
among them
وَلَوْلَا
walawlā
And if not
فَضْلُ
faḍlu
(had been the) bounty
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
on you
وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ
waraḥmatuhu
and His Mercy
لَٱتَّبَعْتُمُ
la-ittabaʿtumu
surely you (would have) followed
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ
l-shayṭāna
the Shaitaan
إِلَّا
illā
except
قَلِيلًۭا
qalīlan
a few
فَقَـٰتِلْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُكَلَّفُ إِلَّا نَفْسَكَۚ وَحَرِّضِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَۖ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَكُفَّ بَأْسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۚ وَٱللَّهُ أَشَدُّ بَأْسًا وَأَشَدُّ تَنكِيلاً ﴿٨٤﴾
Mot à mot
فَقَـٰتِلْ
faqātil
So fight
فِى
fī
in
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
لَا
lā
not
تُكَلَّفُ
tukallafu
are you responsible
إِلَّا
illā
except
نَفْسَكَ ۚ
nafsaka
(for) yourself
وَحَرِّضِ
waḥarriḍi
And encourage
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
عَسَى
ʿasā
perhaps
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
أَن
an
will
يَكُفَّ
yakuffa
restrain
بَأْسَ
basa
(the) might
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(of) those who
كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ
kafarū
disbelieved
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
أَشَدُّ
ashaddu
(is) Stronger
بَأْسًۭا
basan
(in) Might
وَأَشَدُّ
wa-ashaddu
and Stronger
تَنكِيلًۭا
tankīlan
(in) punishment
مَّن يَشْفَعْ شَفَـٰعَةً حَسَنَةً يَكُن لَّهُۥ نَصِيبٌ مِّنْهَاۖ وَمَن يَشْفَعْ شَفَـٰعَةً سَيِّئَةً يَكُن لَّهُۥ كِفْلٌ مِّنْهَاۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مُّقِيتًا ﴿٨٥﴾

مَّن
man
Whoever
يَشْفَعْ
yashfaʿ
intercedes
شَفَـٰعَةً
shafāʿatan
an intercession
حَسَنَةًۭ
ḥasanatan
good
يَكُن
yakun
will have
لَّهُۥ
lahu
for him
نَصِيبٌۭ
naṣībun
a share
مِّنْهَا ۖ
min'hā
of it
وَمَن
waman
and whoever
يَشْفَعْ
yashfaʿ
intercedes
شَفَـٰعَةًۭ
shafāʿatan
an intercession
سَيِّئَةًۭ
sayyi-atan
evil
يَكُن
yakun
will have
لَّهُۥ
lahu
for him
كِفْلٌۭ
kif'lun
a portion
مِّنْهَا ۗ
min'hā
of it
وَكَانَ
wakāna
And is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍۢ
shayin
thing
مُّقِيتًۭا
muqītan
a Keeper
وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُم بِتَحِيَّةٍ فَحَيُّواْ بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَآ أَوْ رُدُّوهَآۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَسِيبًا ﴿٨٦﴾
Mot à mot
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
حُيِّيتُم
ḥuyyītum
you are greeted
بِتَحِيَّةٍۢ
bitaḥiyyatin
with a greeting
فَحَيُّوا۟
faḥayyū
then greet
بِأَحْسَنَ
bi-aḥsana
with better
مِنْهَآ
min'hā
than it
أَوْ
aw
or
رُدُّوهَآ ۗ
ruddūhā
return it
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
كَانَ
kāna
is
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
of
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
حَسِيبًا
ḥasīban
an Accountant
ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِۗ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حَدِيثًا ﴿٨٧﴾
Mot à mot
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
لَآ
lā
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāha
god
إِلَّا
illā
except
هُوَ ۚ
huwa
Him
لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ
layajmaʿannakum
surely He will gather you
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
يَوْمِ
yawmi
(the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) Resurrection
لَا
lā
no
رَيْبَ
rayba
doubt
فِيهِ ۗ
fīhi
about it
وَمَنْ
waman
And who
أَصْدَقُ
aṣdaqu
(is) more truthful
مِنَ
mina
than
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
حَدِيثًۭا
ḥadīthan
(in) statement
۞ فَمَا لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ فِئَتَيْنِ وَٱللَّهُ أَرْكَسَهُم بِمَا كَسَبُوٓاْۚ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَهْدُواْ مَنْ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُۖ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلاً ﴿٨٨﴾
Mot à mot
۞ فَمَا
famā
So what
لَكُمْ
lakum
(is the matter) with you
فِى
fī
concerning
ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ
l-munāfiqīna
the hypocrites (that)
فِئَتَيْنِ
fi-atayni
(you have become) two parties
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
While Allah
أَرْكَسَهُم
arkasahum
cast them back
بِمَا
bimā
for what
كَسَبُوٓا۟ ۚ
kasabū
they earned
أَتُرِيدُونَ
aturīdūna
Do you wish
أَن
an
that
تَهْدُوا۟
tahdū
you guide
مَنْ
man
whom
أَضَلَّ
aḍalla
is let astray
ٱللَّهُ ۖ
l-lahu
(by) Allah
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
يُضْلِلِ
yuḍ'lili
is let astray
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
(by) Allah
فَلَن
falan
then never
تَجِدَ
tajida
will you find
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlan
a way
وَدُّواْ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَآءًۖ فَلَا تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءَ حَتَّىٰ يُهَاجِرُواْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْاْ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْۖ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُواْ مِنْهُمْ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا ﴿٨٩﴾

وَدُّوا۟
waddū
They wish
لَوْ
law
if
تَكْفُرُونَ
takfurūna
you disbelieve
كَمَا
kamā
as
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
they disbelieved
فَتَكُونُونَ
fatakūnūna
and you would be
سَوَآءًۭ ۖ
sawāan
alike
فَلَا
falā
So (do) not
تَتَّخِذُوا۟
tattakhidhū
take
مِنْهُمْ
min'hum
from them
أَوْلِيَآءَ
awliyāa
allies
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattā
until
يُهَاجِرُوا۟
yuhājirū
they emigrate
فِى
fī
in
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ ۚ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
فَإِن
fa-in
But if
تَوَلَّوْا۟
tawallaw
they turn back
فَخُذُوهُمْ
fakhudhūhum
seize them
وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ
wa-uq'tulūhum
and kill them
حَيْثُ
ḥaythu
wherever
وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ ۖ
wajadttumūhum
you find them
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تَتَّخِذُوا۟
tattakhidhū
take
مِنْهُمْ
min'hum
from them
وَلِيًّۭا
waliyyan
any ally
وَلَا
walā
and not
نَصِيرًا
naṣīran
any helper
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَـٰقٌ أَوْ جَآءُوكُمْ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُهُمْ أَن يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ أَوْ يُقَـٰتِلُواْ قَوْمَهُمْۚ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ فَلَقَـٰتَلُوكُمْۚ فَإِنِ ٱعْتَزَلُوكُمْ فَلَمْ يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ وَأَلْقَوْاْ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ فَمَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سَبِيلاً ﴿٩٠﴾

إِلَّا

Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
يَصِلُونَ
yaṣilūna
join
إِلَىٰ
ilā
[to]
قَوْمٍۭ
qawmin
a group
بَيْنَكُمْ
baynakum
between you
وَبَيْنَهُم
wabaynahum
and between them
مِّيثَـٰقٌ
mīthāqun
(is) a treaty
أَوْ
aw
or
جَآءُوكُمْ
jāūkum
those who come to you
حَصِرَتْ
ḥaṣirat
restraining
صُدُورُهُمْ
ṣudūruhum
their hearts
أَن
an
that
يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ
yuqātilūkum
they fight you
أَوْ
aw
or
يُقَـٰتِلُوا۟
yuqātilū
they fight
قَوْمَهُمْ ۚ
qawmahum
their people
وَلَوْ
walaw
And if
شَآءَ
shāa
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
لَسَلَّطَهُمْ
lasallaṭahum
surely He (would have) given them power
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
over you
فَلَقَـٰتَلُوكُمْ ۚ
falaqātalūkum
and surely they (would have) fought you
فَإِنِ
fa-ini
So if
ٱعْتَزَلُوكُمْ
iʿ'tazalūkum
they withdraw from you
فَلَمْ
falam
and (do) not
يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ
yuqātilūkum
fight against you
وَأَلْقَوْا۟
wa-alqaw
and offer
إِلَيْكُمُ
ilaykumu
to you
ٱلسَّلَمَ
l-salama
[the] peace
فَمَا
famā
then not
جَعَلَ
jaʿala
(has) made
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
against them
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlan
a way
سَتَجِدُونَ ءَاخَرِينَ يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَأْمَنُوكُمْ وَيَأْمَنُواْ قَوْمَهُمْ كُلَّ مَا رُدُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلْفِتْنَةِ أُرْكِسُواْ فِيهَاۚ فَإِن لَّمْ يَعْتَزِلُوكُمْ وَيُلْقُوٓاْ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ وَيَكُفُّوٓاْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْۚ وَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكُمْ جَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنًا مُّبِينًا ﴿٩١﴾

سَتَجِدُونَ
satajidūna
You will find
ءَاخَرِينَ
ākharīna
others
يُرِيدُونَ
yurīdūna
wishing
أَن
an
that
يَأْمَنُوكُمْ
yamanūkum
they be secure from you
وَيَأْمَنُوا۟
wayamanū
and they be secure from
قَوْمَهُمْ
qawmahum
their people
كُلَّ
kulla
Everytime
مَا
mā
that
رُدُّوٓا۟
ruddū
they are returned
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلْفِتْنَةِ
l-fit'nati
the temptation
أُرْكِسُوا۟
ur'kisū
they are plunged
فِيهَا ۚ
fīhā
into it
فَإِن
fa-in
So if
لَّمْ
lam
not
يَعْتَزِلُوكُمْ
yaʿtazilūkum
they withdraw from you
وَيُلْقُوٓا۟
wayul'qū
and offer
إِلَيْكُمُ
ilaykumu
to you
ٱلسَّلَمَ
l-salama
[the] peace
وَيَكُفُّوٓا۟
wayakuffū
and they restrain
أَيْدِيَهُمْ
aydiyahum
their hands
فَخُذُوهُمْ
fakhudhūhum
then seize them
وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ
wa-uq'tulūhum
and kill them
حَيْثُ
ḥaythu
wherever
ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ ۚ
thaqif'tumūhum
you find them
وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكُمْ
wa-ulāikum
And those
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnā
We made
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
against them
سُلْطَـٰنًۭا
sul'ṭānan
an authority
مُّبِينًۭا
mubīnan
clear
وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَن يَقْتُلَ مُؤْمِنًا إِلَّا خَطَــًٔاۚ وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا خَطَــًٔا فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَصَّدَّقُواْۚ فَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍ عَدُوٍّ لَّكُمْ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمِۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَـٰقٌ فَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ وَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍۖ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ تَوْبَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ﴿٩٢﴾

And not
كَانَ

is
لِمُؤْمِنٍ
limu'minin
for a believer
أَن
an
that
يَقْتُلَ
yaqtula
he kills
مُؤْمِنًا
mu'minan
a believer
إِلَّا
illā
except
خَطَـًۭٔا ۚ
khaṭa-an
(by) mistake
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
قَتَلَ
qatala
killed
مُؤْمِنًا
mu'minan
a believer
خَطَـًۭٔا
khaṭa-an
(by) mistake
فَتَحْرِيرُ
fataḥrīru
then freeing
رَقَبَةٍۢ
raqabatin
(of) a slave
مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ
mu'minatin
believing
وَدِيَةٌۭ
wadiyatun
and blood money
مُّسَلَّمَةٌ
musallamatun
(is to be) paid
إِلَىٰٓ
ilā
to
أَهْلِهِۦٓ
ahlihi
his family
إِلَّآ
illā
unless
أَن
an
that
يَصَّدَّقُوا۟ ۚ
yaṣṣaddaqū
they remit (as) charity
فَإِن
fa-in
But if
كَانَ
kāna
(he) was
مِن
min
from
قَوْمٍ
qawmin
a people
عَدُوٍّۢ
ʿaduwwin
hostile
لَّكُمْ
lakum
to you
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and he was
مُؤْمِنٌۭ
mu'minun
a believer
فَتَحْرِيرُ
fataḥrīru
then freeing
رَقَبَةٍۢ
raqabatin
(of) a believing slave
مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ ۖ
mu'minatin
believing
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
كَانَ
kāna
(he) was
مِن
min
from
قَوْمٍۭ
qawmin
a people
بَيْنَكُمْ
baynakum
between you
وَبَيْنَهُم
wabaynahum
and between them
مِّيثَـٰقٌۭ
mīthāqun
(is) a treaty
فَدِيَةٌۭ
fadiyatun
then blood money
مُّسَلَّمَةٌ
musallamatun
(is to be) paid
إِلَىٰٓ
ilā
to
أَهْلِهِۦ
ahlihi
his family
وَتَحْرِيرُ
wataḥrīru
and freeing
رَقَبَةٍۢ
raqabatin
(of) a slave
مُّؤْمِنَةٍۢ ۖ
mu'minatin
believing
فَمَن
faman
And whoever
لَّمْ
lam
(does) not
يَجِدْ
yajid
find
فَصِيَامُ
faṣiyāmu
then fasting
شَهْرَيْنِ
shahrayni
(for) two months
مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ
mutatābiʿayni
consecutively
تَوْبَةًۭ
tawbatan
(seeking) repentance
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱللَّهِ ۗ
l-lahi
Allah
وَكَانَ
wakāna
and is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
عَلِيمًا
ʿalīman
All-Knowing
حَكِيمًۭا
ḥakīman
All-Wise
وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُّتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَآؤُهُۥ جَهَنَّمُ خَـٰلِدًا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُۥ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُۥ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًا ﴿٩٣﴾
Mot à mot
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
يَقْتُلْ
yaqtul
kills
مُؤْمِنًۭا
mu'minan
a believer
مُّتَعَمِّدًۭا
mutaʿammidan
intentionally
فَجَزَآؤُهُۥ
fajazāuhu
then his recompense
جَهَنَّمُ
jahannamu
(is) Hell
خَـٰلِدًۭا
khālidan
abiding forever
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
وَغَضِبَ
waghaḍiba
and will fall the wrath
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
(of) Allah
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
on him
وَلَعَنَهُۥ
walaʿanahu
and He (will) curse him
وَأَعَدَّ
wa-aʿadda
and He has prepared
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
عَذَابًا
ʿadhāban
a punishment
عَظِيمًۭا
ʿaẓīman
great
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُواْ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَنْ أَلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَـٰمَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ ٱلْحَيَوٲةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ مَغَانِمُ كَثِيرَةٌۚ كَذَٲلِكَ كُنتُم مِّن قَبْلُ فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا ﴿٩٤﴾

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟
āmanū
believe[d]
إِذَا
idhā
When
ضَرَبْتُمْ
ḍarabtum
you go forth
فِى
fī
in
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
فَتَبَيَّنُوا۟
fatabayyanū
then investigate
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَقُولُوا۟
taqūlū
say
لِمَنْ
liman
to (the one) who
أَلْقَىٰٓ
alqā
offers
إِلَيْكُمُ
ilaykumu
to you
ٱلسَّلَـٰمَ
l-salāma
(a greeting of) peace
لَسْتَ
lasta
You are not
مُؤْمِنًۭا
mu'minan
a believer
تَبْتَغُونَ
tabtaghūna
seeking
عَرَضَ
ʿaraḍa
transitory gains
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayati
(of) the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
فَعِندَ
faʿinda
for with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
مَغَانِمُ
maghānimu
(are) booties
كَثِيرَةٌۭ ۚ
kathīratun
abundant
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Like that
كُنتُم
kuntum
you were
مِّن
min
from
قَبْلُ
qablu
before
فَمَنَّ
famanna
then conferred favor
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
upon you
فَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟ ۚ
fatabayyanū
so investigate
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
كَانَ
kāna
is
بِمَا
bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
you do
خَبِيرًۭا
khabīran
All-Aware
لَّا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْقَـٰعِدُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ غَيْرُ أُوْلِى ٱلضَّرَرِ وَٱلْمُجَـٰهِدُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٲلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْۚ فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُجَـٰهِدِينَ بِأَمْوَٲلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ عَلَى ٱلْقَـٰعِدِينَ دَرَجَةًۚ وَكُلاًّ وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰۚ وَفَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُجَـٰهِدِينَ عَلَى ٱلْقَـٰعِدِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ﴿٩٥﴾

Not
يَسْتَوِى
yastawī
(are) equal
ٱلْقَـٰعِدُونَ
l-qāʿidūna
the ones who sit
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
غَيْرُ
ghayru
other than
أُو۟لِى
ulī
the ones (who are)
ٱلضَّرَرِ
l-ḍarari
[the] disabled
وَٱلْمُجَـٰهِدُونَ
wal-mujāhidūna
and the ones who strive
فِى
fī
in
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ
bi-amwālihim
with their wealth
وَأَنفُسِهِمْ ۚ
wa-anfusihim
and their lives
فَضَّلَ
faḍḍala
Preferred
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
(has) Allah
ٱلْمُجَـٰهِدِينَ
l-mujāhidīna
the ones who strive
بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ
bi-amwālihim
with their wealth
وَأَنفُسِهِمْ
wa-anfusihim
and their lives
عَلَى
ʿalā
to
ٱلْقَـٰعِدِينَ
l-qāʿidīna
the ones who sit
دَرَجَةًۭ ۚ
darajatan
(in) rank
وَكُلًّۭا
wakullan
And (to) all
وَعَدَ
waʿada
promised
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
(has) Allah
ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ
l-ḥus'nā
the best
وَفَضَّلَ
wafaḍḍala
preferred
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
(has) Allah
ٱلْمُجَـٰهِدِينَ
l-mujāhidīna
the ones who strive
عَلَى
ʿalā
over
ٱلْقَـٰعِدِينَ
l-qāʿidīna
the ones who sit
أَجْرًا
ajran
(with) a reward
عَظِيمًۭا
ʿaẓīman
great
دَرَجَـٰتٍ مِّنْهُ وَمَغْفِرَةً وَرَحْمَةًۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ﴿٩٦﴾

دَرَجَـٰتٍۢ
darajātin
Ranks
مِّنْهُ
min'hu
from Him
وَمَغْفِرَةًۭ
wamaghfiratan
and forgiveness
وَرَحْمَةًۭ ۚ
waraḥmatan
and mercy
وَكَانَ
wakāna
And is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
غَفُورًۭا
ghafūran
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًا
raḥīman
Most Merciful
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَفَّـٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ قَالُواْ فِيمَ كُنتُمْۖ قَالُواْ كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِۚ قَالُوٓاْ أَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَرْضُ ٱللَّهِ وَٲسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُواْ فِيهَاۚ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَٮٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا ﴿٩٧﴾
Mot à mot
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those whom
تَوَفَّىٰهُمُ
tawaffāhumu
take them (in death)
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
l-malāikatu
the Angels
ظَالِمِىٓ
ẓālimī
(while) they (were) wronging
أَنفُسِهِمْ
anfusihim
themselves
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they say
فِيمَ
fīma
In what (condition)
كُنتُمْ ۖ
kuntum
were you
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
كُنَّا
kunnā
We were
مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ
mus'taḍʿafīna
oppressed
فِى
fī
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ
l-arḍi
the earth
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
They said
أَلَمْ
alam
Not
تَكُنْ
takun
was
أَرْضُ
arḍu
(the) earth
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَٰسِعَةًۭ
wāsiʿatan
spacious (enough)
فَتُهَاجِرُوا۟
fatuhājirū
so that you (could) emigrate
فِيهَا ۚ
fīhā
in it
فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulāika
Then those
مَأْوَىٰهُمْ
mawāhum
(will have) their abode
جَهَنَّمُ ۖ
jahannamu
(in) Hell
وَسَآءَتْ
wasāat
and it is an evil
مَصِيرًا
maṣīran
destination
إِلَّا ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْوِلْدَٲنِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةً وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ سَبِيلاً ﴿٩٨﴾
Mot à mot
إِلَّا
illā
Except
ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ
l-mus'taḍʿafīna
the oppressed
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلرِّجَالِ
l-rijāli
the men
وَٱلنِّسَآءِ
wal-nisāi
and the women
وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ
wal-wil'dāni
and the children
لَا
lā
(who) not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭīʿūna
are able to
حِيلَةًۭ
ḥīlatan
plan
وَلَا
walā
and not
يَهْتَدُونَ
yahtadūna
they are directed
سَبِيلًۭا
sabīlan
(to) a way
فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَعْفُوَ عَنْهُمْۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا ﴿٩٩﴾

فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulāika
Then those
عَسَى
ʿasā
may be
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
أَن
an
will
يَعْفُوَ
yaʿfuwa
pardon
عَنْهُمْ ۚ
ʿanhum
[on] them
وَكَانَ
wakāna
and is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
عَفُوًّا
ʿafuwwan
Oft-Pardoning
غَفُورًۭا
ghafūran
Oft-Forgiving
۞ وَمَن يُهَاجِرْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ يَجِدْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُرَٲغَمًا كَثِيرًا وَسَعَةًۚ وَمَن يَخْرُجْ مِنۢ بَيْتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ يُدْرِكْهُ ٱلْمَوْتُ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ أَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ﴿١٠٠﴾

۞ وَمَن
waman
And whoever
يُهَاجِرْ
yuhājir
emigrates
فِى
fī
in
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
يَجِدْ
yajid
will find
فِى
fī
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
مُرَٰغَمًۭا
murāghaman
place(s) of refuge
كَثِيرًۭا
kathīran
many
وَسَعَةًۭ ۚ
wasaʿatan
and abundance
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
يَخْرُجْ
yakhruj
leaves
مِنۢ
min
from
بَيْتِهِۦ
baytihi
his home
مُهَاجِرًا
muhājiran
(as) an emigrant
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
warasūlihi
and His Messenger
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يُدْرِكْهُ
yud'rik'hu
overtakes him
ٱلْمَوْتُ
l-mawtu
[the] death
فَقَدْ
faqad
then certainly
وَقَعَ
waqaʿa
(became) incumbent
أَجْرُهُۥ
ajruhu
his reward
عَلَى
ʿalā
on
ٱللَّهِ ۗ
l-lahi
Allah
وَكَانَ
wakāna
And is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
غَفُورًۭا
ghafūran
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًۭا
raḥīman
