ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

Those who

ٱتَّخَذُوا۟

ittakhadhū

took

دِينَهُمْ

dīnahum

their religion

لَهْوًۭا

lahwan

(as) an amusement

وَلَعِبًۭا

walaʿiban

and play

وَغَرَّتْهُمُ

wagharrathumu

and deluded them

ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ

l-ḥayatu

the life

ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ

l-dun'yā

(of) the world

فَٱلْيَوْمَ

fal-yawma

So today

نَنسَىٰهُمْ

nansāhum

We forget them

كَمَا

kamā

as

نَسُوا۟

nasū

they forgot

لِقَآءَ

liqāa

(the) meeting

يَوْمِهِمْ

yawmihim

(of) their day

هَـٰذَا

hādhā

this

وَمَا

wamā

and [what]

كَانُوا۟

kānū

(as) they used to

بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا

biāyātinā

with Our Verses

يَجْحَدُونَ

yajḥadūna

they reject

وَلَقَدْ

walaqad

And certainly

جِئْنَـٰهُم

ji'nāhum

We had brought them

بِكِتَـٰبٍۢ

bikitābin

a Book

فَصَّلْنَـٰهُ

faṣṣalnāhu

which We have explained

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

with

عِلْمٍ

ʿil'min

knowledge

هُدًۭى

hudan

as guidance

وَرَحْمَةًۭ

waraḥmatan

and mercy

لِّقَوْمٍۢ

liqawmin

for a people

يُؤْمِنُونَ

yu'minūna

who believe

هَلْ

hal

Do

يَنظُرُونَ

yanẓurūna

they wait

إِلَّا

illā

except

تَأْوِيلَهُۥ ۚ

tawīlahu

(for) its fulfillment

يَوْمَ

yawma

(The) Day

يَأْتِى

yatī

(will) come

تَأْوِيلُهُۥ

tawīluhu

its fulfillment

يَقُولُ

yaqūlu

will say

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

نَسُوهُ

nasūhu

had forgotten it

مِن

min

from

قَبْلُ

qablu

before

قَدْ

qad

Verily

جَآءَتْ

jāat

had come

رُسُلُ

rusulu

(the) Messengers

رَبِّنَا

rabbinā

(of) our Lord

بِٱلْحَقِّ

bil-ḥaqi

with the truth

فَهَل

fahal

so are (there)

لَّنَا

lanā

for us

مِن

min

any

شُفَعَآءَ

shufaʿāa

intercessors

فَيَشْفَعُوا۟

fayashfaʿū

so (that) they intercede

لَنَآ

lanā

for us

أَوْ

aw

or

نُرَدُّ

nuraddu

we are sent back

فَنَعْمَلَ

fanaʿmala

so (that) we do (deeds)

غَيْرَ

ghayra

other than

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

that which

كُنَّا

kunnā

we used to

نَعْمَلُ ۚ

naʿmalu

do

قَدْ

qad

Verily

خَسِرُوٓا۟

khasirū

they lost

أَنفُسَهُمْ

anfusahum

themselves

وَضَلَّ

waḍalla

and strayed

عَنْهُم

ʿanhum

from them

مَّا

mā

what

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they used to

يَفْتَرُونَ

yaftarūna

invent

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

رَبَّكُمُ

rabbakumu

your Lord

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(is) Allah

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

the One Who

خَلَقَ

khalaqa

created

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَٱلْأَرْضَ

wal-arḍa

and the earth

فِى

fī

in

سِتَّةِ

sittati

six

أَيَّامٍۢ

ayyāmin

epochs

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

ٱسْتَوَىٰ

is'tawā

He ascended

عَلَى

ʿalā

on

ٱلْعَرْشِ

l-ʿarshi

the Throne

يُغْشِى

yugh'shī

He covers

ٱلَّيْلَ

al-layla

the night

ٱلنَّهَارَ

l-nahāra

(with) the day

يَطْلُبُهُۥ

yaṭlubuhu

seeking it

حَثِيثًۭا

ḥathīthan

rapidly

وَٱلشَّمْسَ

wal-shamsa

and the sun

وَٱلْقَمَرَ

wal-qamara

and the moon

وَٱلنُّجُومَ

wal-nujūma

and the stars

مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ

musakharātin

subjected

بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ ۗ

bi-amrihi

by His command

أَلَا

alā

Unquestionably

لَهُ

lahu

for Him

ٱلْخَلْقُ

l-khalqu

(is) the creation

وَٱلْأَمْرُ ۗ

wal-amru

and the command

تَبَارَكَ

tabāraka

blessed

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(is) Allah

رَبُّ

rabbu

Lord

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

l-ʿālamīna

(of) the worlds

ٱدْعُوا۟

id'ʿū

Call upon

رَبَّكُمْ

rabbakum

your Lord

تَضَرُّعًۭا

taḍarruʿan

humbly

وَخُفْيَةً ۚ

wakhuf'yatan

and privately

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed, He

لَا

lā

(does) not

يُحِبُّ

yuḥibbu

love

ٱلْمُعْتَدِينَ

l-muʿ'tadīna

the transgressors

وَلَا

walā

And (do) not

تُفْسِدُوا۟

tuf'sidū

cause corruption

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

the earth

بَعْدَ

baʿda

after

إِصْلَـٰحِهَا

iṣ'lāḥihā

its reformation

وَٱدْعُوهُ

wa-id'ʿūhu

And call Him

خَوْفًۭا

khawfan

(in) fear

وَطَمَعًا ۚ

waṭamaʿan

and hope

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

رَحْمَتَ

raḥmata

(the) Mercy

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

قَرِيبٌۭ

qarībun

(is) near

مِّنَ

mina

for

ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

l-muḥ'sinīna

the good-doers

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

And He

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

(is) the One Who

يُرْسِلُ

yur'silu

sends

ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ

l-riyāḥa

the winds

بُشْرًۢا

bush'ran

(as) glad tidings

بَيْنَ

bayna

from

يَدَىْ

yaday

before

رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۖ

raḥmatihi

His Mercy

حَتَّىٰٓ

ḥattā

until

إِذَآ

idhā

when

أَقَلَّتْ

aqallat

they have carried

سَحَابًۭا

saḥāban

clouds

ثِقَالًۭا

thiqālan

heavy

سُقْنَـٰهُ

suq'nāhu

We drive them

لِبَلَدٍۢ

libaladin

to a land

مَّيِّتٍۢ

mayyitin

dead

فَأَنزَلْنَا

fa-anzalnā

then We send down

بِهِ

bihi

from it

ٱلْمَآءَ

l-māa

the water

فَأَخْرَجْنَا

fa-akhrajnā

then We bring forth

بِهِۦ

bihi

from it

مِن

min

(of)

كُلِّ

kulli

all (kinds)

ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۚ

l-thamarāti

(of) fruits

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhālika

Thus

نُخْرِجُ

nukh'riju

We will bring forth

ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ

l-mawtā

the dead

لَعَلَّكُمْ

laʿallakum

so that you may

تَذَكَّرُونَ

tadhakkarūna

take heed

وَٱلْبَلَدُ

wal-baladu

And the land

ٱلطَّيِّبُ

l-ṭayibu

[the] pure

يَخْرُجُ

yakhruju

comes forth

نَبَاتُهُۥ

nabātuhu

its vegetation

بِإِذْنِ

bi-idh'ni

by (the) permission

رَبِّهِۦ ۖ

rabbihi

(of) its Lord

وَٱلَّذِى

wa-alladhī

but which

خَبُثَ

khabutha

is bad

لَا

lā

(does) not

يَخْرُجُ

yakhruju

come forth

إِلَّا

illā

except

نَكِدًۭا ۚ

nakidan

(with) difficulty

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhālika

Thus

نُصَرِّفُ

nuṣarrifu

We explain

ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ

l-āyāti

the Signs

لِقَوْمٍۢ

liqawmin

for a people

يَشْكُرُونَ

yashkurūna

who are grateful

لَقَدْ

laqad

Certainly

أَرْسَلْنَا

arsalnā

We sent

نُوحًا

nūḥan

Nuh

إِلَىٰ

ilā

to

قَوْمِهِۦ

qawmihi

his people

فَقَالَ

faqāla

and he said

يَـٰقَوْمِ

yāqawmi

O my people

ٱعْبُدُوا۟

uʿ'budū

Worship

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

مَا

mā

not

لَكُم

lakum

for you

مِّنْ

min

any

إِلَـٰهٍ

ilāhin

god

غَيْرُهُۥٓ

ghayruhu

other than Him

إِنِّىٓ

innī

Indeed, I

أَخَافُ

akhāfu

[I] fear

عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿalaykum

for you

عَذَابَ

ʿadhāba

punishment

يَوْمٍ

yawmin

(of the) Day

عَظِيمٍۢ

ʿaẓīmin

Great

قَالَ

qāla

Said

ٱلْمَلَأُ

l-mala-u

the chiefs

مِن

min

of

قَوْمِهِۦٓ

qawmihi

his people

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, we

لَنَرَىٰكَ

lanarāka

surely see you

فِى

fī

in

ضَلَـٰلٍۢ

ḍalālin

error

مُّبِينٍۢ

mubīnin

clear

قَالَ

qāla

He said

يَـٰقَوْمِ

yāqawmi

O my people

لَيْسَ

laysa

There is not

بِى

bī

in me

ضَلَـٰلَةٌۭ

ḍalālatun

error

وَلَـٰكِنِّى

walākinnī

but I am

رَسُولٌۭ

rasūlun

a Messenger

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّ

rabbi

(the) Lord

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

l-ʿālamīna

(of) the worlds

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ

uballighukum

I convey to you

رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ

risālāti

the Messages

رَبِّى

rabbī

(of) my Lord

وَأَنصَحُ

wa-anṣaḥu

and [I] advise

لَكُمْ

lakum

[to] you

وَأَعْلَمُ

wa-aʿlamu

and I know

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

مَا

mā

what

لَا

lā

not

تَعْلَمُونَ

taʿlamūna

you know

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ

awaʿajib'tum

Do you wonder

أَن

an

that

جَآءَكُمْ

jāakum

has come to you

ذِكْرٌۭ

dhik'run

a reminder

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّكُمْ

rabbikum

your Lord

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

on

رَجُلٍۢ

rajulin

a man

مِّنكُمْ

minkum

among you

لِيُنذِرَكُمْ

liyundhirakum

that he may warn you

وَلِتَتَّقُوا۟

walitattaqū

and that you may fear

وَلَعَلَّكُمْ

walaʿallakum

and so that you may

تُرْحَمُونَ

tur'ḥamūna

receive mercy

فَكَذَّبُوهُ

fakadhabūhu

But they denied him

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ

fa-anjaynāhu

so We saved him

وَٱلَّذِينَ

wa-alladhīna

and those who

مَعَهُۥ

maʿahu

(were) with him

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْفُلْكِ

l-ful'ki

the ship

وَأَغْرَقْنَا

wa-aghraqnā

And We drowned

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَذَّبُوا۟

kadhabū

denied

بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۚ

biāyātinā

Our Verses

إِنَّهُمْ

innahum

Indeed, they

كَانُوا۟

kānū

were

قَوْمًا

qawman

a people

عَمِينَ

ʿamīna

blind

۞ وَإِلَىٰ

wa-ilā

And to

عَادٍ

ʿādin

Aad

أَخَاهُمْ

akhāhum

(We sent) their brother

هُودًۭا ۗ

hūdan

Hud

قَالَ

qāla

He said

يَـٰقَوْمِ

yāqawmi

O my people

ٱعْبُدُوا۟

uʿ'budū

Worship

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

مَا

mā

not

لَكُم

lakum

for you

مِّنْ

min

any

إِلَـٰهٍ

ilāhin

god

غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۚ

ghayruhu

other than Him

أَفَلَا

afalā

Then will not

تَتَّقُونَ

tattaqūna

you fear (Allah)

قَالَ

qāla

Said

ٱلْمَلَأُ

l-mala-u

the chiefs

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

(of) those who

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

مِن

min

from

قَوْمِهِۦٓ

qawmihi

his people

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, we

لَنَرَىٰكَ

lanarāka

surely, see you

فِى

fī

in

سَفَاهَةٍۢ

safāhatin

foolishness

وَإِنَّا

wa-innā

and indeed, we

لَنَظُنُّكَ

lanaẓunnuka

[we] think you

مِنَ

mina

(are) of

ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ

l-kādhibīna

the liars

قَالَ

qāla

He said

يَـٰقَوْمِ

yāqawmi

O my people

لَيْسَ

laysa

There is not

بِى

bī

in me

سَفَاهَةٌۭ

safāhatun

foolishness

وَلَـٰكِنِّى

walākinnī

but I am

رَسُولٌۭ

rasūlun

a Messenger

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّ

rabbi

(the) Lord

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

l-ʿālamīna

(of) the worlds

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ

uballighukum

I convey to you

رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ

risālāti

Messages

رَبِّى

rabbī

(of) my Lord

وَأَنَا۠

wa-anā

and I am

لَكُمْ

lakum

to you

نَاصِحٌ

nāṣiḥun

an adviser

أَمِينٌ

amīnun

trustworthy

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ

awaʿajib'tum

Do you wonder

أَن

an

that

جَآءَكُمْ

jāakum

has come to you

ذِكْرٌۭ

dhik'run

a reminder

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّكُمْ

rabbikum

your Lord

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

on

رَجُلٍۢ

rajulin

a man

مِّنكُمْ

minkum

among you

لِيُنذِرَكُمْ ۚ

liyundhirakum

that he may warn you

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟

wa-udh'kurū

And remember

إِذْ

idh

when

جَعَلَكُمْ

jaʿalakum

He made you

خُلَفَآءَ

khulafāa

successors

مِنۢ

min

from

بَعْدِ

baʿdi

after

قَوْمِ

qawmi

(the) people

نُوحٍۢ

nūḥin

(of) Nuh

وَزَادَكُمْ

wazādakum

and increased you

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْخَلْقِ

l-khalqi

the stature

بَصْۜطَةًۭ ۖ

baṣ'ṭatan

extensively

فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟

fa-udh'kurū

So remember

ءَالَآءَ

ālāa

(the) Bounties

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

لَعَلَّكُمْ

laʿallakum

so that you may

تُفْلِحُونَ

tuf'liḥūna

succeed

قَالُوٓا۟

qālū

They said

أَجِئْتَنَا

aji'tanā

Have you come to us

لِنَعْبُدَ

linaʿbuda

that we (should) worship

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

وَحْدَهُۥ

waḥdahu

Alone

وَنَذَرَ

wanadhara

and we forsake

مَا

mā

what

كَانَ

kāna

used to

يَعْبُدُ

yaʿbudu

worship

ءَابَآؤُنَا ۖ

ābāunā

our forefathers

فَأْتِنَا

fatinā

Then bring us

بِمَا

bimā

of what

تَعِدُنَآ

taʿidunā

you promise us

إِن

in

if

كُنتَ

kunta

you are

مِنَ

mina

of

ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

l-ṣādiqīna

the truthful

قَالَ

qāla

He said

قَدْ

qad

Verily

وَقَعَ

waqaʿa

has fallen

عَلَيْكُم

ʿalaykum

upon you

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّكُمْ

rabbikum

your Lord

رِجْسٌۭ

rij'sun

punishment

وَغَضَبٌ ۖ

waghaḍabun

and anger

أَتُجَـٰدِلُونَنِى

atujādilūnanī

Do you dispute with me

فِىٓ

fī

concerning

أَسْمَآءٍۢ

asmāin

names

سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ

sammaytumūhā

you have named them

أَنتُمْ

antum

you

وَءَابَآؤُكُم

waābāukum

and your forefathers

مَّا

mā

Not

نَزَّلَ

nazzala

(has been) sent down

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

بِهَا

bihā

for it

مِن

min

any

سُلْطَـٰنٍۢ ۚ

sul'ṭānin

authority

فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟

fa-intaẓirū

Then wait

إِنِّى

innī

indeed, I am

مَعَكُم

maʿakum

with you

مِّنَ

mina

of

ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

l-muntaẓirīna

the ones who wait

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ

fa-anjaynāhu

So We saved him

وَٱلَّذِينَ

wa-alladhīna

and those

مَعَهُۥ

maʿahu

with him

بِرَحْمَةٍۢ

biraḥmatin

by Mercy

مِّنَّا

minnā

from Us

وَقَطَعْنَا

waqaṭaʿnā

And We cut off

دَابِرَ

dābira

the roots

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

(of) those who

كَذَّبُوا۟

kadhabū

denied

بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا ۖ

biāyātinā

Our Signs

وَمَا

wamā

and not

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they were

مُؤْمِنِينَ

mu'minīna

believers

وَإِلَىٰ

wa-ilā

And to

ثَمُودَ

thamūda

Thamud

أَخَاهُمْ

akhāhum

(We sent) their brother

صَـٰلِحًۭا ۗ

ṣāliḥan

Salih

قَالَ

qāla

He said

يَـٰقَوْمِ

yāqawmi

O my people

ٱعْبُدُوا۟

uʿ'budū

Worship

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

مَا

mā

not

لَكُم

lakum

for you

مِّنْ

min

any

إِلَـٰهٍ

ilāhin

god

غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ

ghayruhu

other than Him

قَدْ

qad

Verily

جَآءَتْكُم

jāatkum

has come to you

بَيِّنَةٌۭ

bayyinatun

a clear proof

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّكُمْ ۖ

rabbikum

your Lord

هَـٰذِهِۦ

hādhihi

This

نَاقَةُ

nāqatu

(is) a she-camel

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

لَكُمْ

lakum

(it is) for you

ءَايَةًۭ ۖ

āyatan

a Sign

فَذَرُوهَا

fadharūhā

So you leave her

تَأْكُلْ

takul

(to) eat

فِىٓ

fī

on

أَرْضِ

arḍi

(the) earth

ٱللَّهِ ۖ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

وَلَا

walā

and (do) not

تَمَسُّوهَا

tamassūhā

touch her

بِسُوٓءٍۢ

bisūin

with harm

فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ

fayakhudhakum

lest seizes you

عَذَابٌ

ʿadhābun

a punishment

أَلِيمٌۭ

alīmun

painful

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟

wa-udh'kurū

And remember

إِذْ

idh

when

جَعَلَكُمْ

jaʿalakum

He made you

خُلَفَآءَ

khulafāa

successors

مِنۢ

min

from

بَعْدِ

baʿdi

after

عَادٍۢ

ʿādin

Aad

وَبَوَّأَكُمْ

wabawwa-akum

and settled you

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

the earth

تَتَّخِذُونَ

tattakhidhūna

You take

مِن

min

from

سُهُولِهَا

suhūlihā

its plains

قُصُورًۭا

quṣūran

palaces

وَتَنْحِتُونَ

watanḥitūna

and you carve out

ٱلْجِبَالَ

l-jibāla

the mountains

بُيُوتًۭا ۖ

buyūtan

(as) homes

فَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟

fa-udh'kurū

So remember

ءَالَآءَ

ālāa

(the) Bounties

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

وَلَا

walā

and (do) not

تَعْثَوْا۟

taʿthaw

act wickedly

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

(the) earth

مُفْسِدِينَ

muf'sidīna

spreading corruption

قَالَ

qāla

Said

ٱلْمَلَأُ

l-mala-u

the chiefs

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those

ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟

is'takbarū

(who) were arrogant

مِن

min

among

قَوْمِهِۦ

qawmihi

his people

لِلَّذِينَ

lilladhīna

to those who

ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟

us'tuḍ'ʿifū

were oppressed

لِمَنْ

liman

[to] those who

ءَامَنَ

āmana

believed

مِنْهُمْ

min'hum

among them

أَتَعْلَمُونَ

ataʿlamūna

Do you know

أَنَّ

anna

that

صَـٰلِحًۭا

ṣāliḥan

Salih

مُّرْسَلٌۭ

mur'salun

(is the) one sent

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّهِۦ ۚ

rabbihi

his Lord

قَالُوٓا۟

qālū

They said

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, we

بِمَآ

bimā

in what

أُرْسِلَ

ur'sila

he has been sent

بِهِۦ

bihi

with [it]

مُؤْمِنُونَ

mu'minūna

(are) believers
