101

وَإِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَقْصُرُواْ مِنَ ٱلصَّلَوٲةِ إِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَن يَفْتِنَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ كَانُواْ لَكُمْ عَدُوًّا مُّبِينًا ﴿١٠١﴾

وَإِذَا

wa-idhā

And when

ضَرَبْتُمْ

ḍarabtum

you travel

فِى

in

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

the earth

فَلَيْسَ

falaysa

then not

عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿalaykum

upon you

جُنَاحٌ

junāḥun

(is) any blame

أَن

an

that

تَقْصُرُوا۟

taqṣurū

you shorten

مِنَ

mina

[of]

ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ

l-ṣalati

the prayer

إِنْ

in

if

خِفْتُمْ

khif'tum

you fear

أَن

an

that

يَفْتِنَكُمُ

yaftinakumu

(may) harm you

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوٓا۟ ۚ

kafarū

disbelieved

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

l-kāfirīna

the disbelievers

كَانُوا۟

kānū

are

لَكُمْ

lakum

for you

عَدُوًّۭا

ʿaduwwan

an enemy

مُّبِينًۭا

mubīnan

open

102

وَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُم مَّعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓاْ أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ فَإِذَا سَجَدُواْ فَلْيَكُونُواْ مِن وَرَآئِكُمْ وَلْتَأْتِ طَآئِفَةٌ أُخْرَىٰ لَمْ يُصَلُّواْ فَلْيُصَلُّواْ مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُواْ حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ‌ۗ وَدَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوْ تَغْفُلُونَ عَنْ أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ فَيَمِيلُونَ عَلَيْكُم مَّيْلَةً وَٲحِدَةً‌ۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِن كَانَ بِكُمْ أَذًى مِّن مَّطَرٍ أَوْ كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَن تَضَعُوٓاْ أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ‌ۖ وَخُذُواْ حِذْرَكُمْ‌ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا ﴿١٠٢﴾

وَإِذَا

wa-idhā

And when

كُنتَ

kunta

you are

فِيهِمْ

fīhim

among them

فَأَقَمْتَ

fa-aqamta

and you lead

لَهُمُ

lahumu

for them

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ

l-ṣalata

the prayer

فَلْتَقُمْ

faltaqum

then let stand

طَآئِفَةٌۭ

ṭāifatun

a group

مِّنْهُم

min'hum

of them

مَّعَكَ

maʿaka

with you

وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟

walyakhudhū

and let them take

أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ

asliḥatahum

their arms

فَإِذَا

fa-idhā

Then when

سَجَدُوا۟

sajadū

they have prostrated

فَلْيَكُونُوا۟

falyakūnū

then let them be

مِن

min

from

وَرَآئِكُمْ

warāikum

behind you

وَلْتَأْتِ

waltati

and let come (forward)

طَآئِفَةٌ

ṭāifatun

a group

أُخْرَىٰ

ukh'rā

other

لَمْ

lam

(which has) not

يُصَلُّوا۟

yuṣallū

prayed

فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟

falyuṣallū

and let them pray

مَعَكَ

maʿaka

with you

وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟

walyakhudhū

and let them take

حِذْرَهُمْ

ḥidh'rahum

their precautions

وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ ۗ

wa-asliḥatahum

and their arms

وَدَّ

wadda

Wished

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

لَوْ

law

if

تَغْفُلُونَ

taghfulūna

you neglect

عَنْ

ʿan

[about]

أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ

asliḥatikum

your arms

وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ

wa-amtiʿatikum

and your baggage

فَيَمِيلُونَ

fayamīlūna

so (that) they (can) assault

عَلَيْكُم

ʿalaykum

[upon] you

مَّيْلَةًۭ

maylatan

(in) an attack

وَٰحِدَةًۭ ۚ

wāḥidatan

single

وَلَا

walā

But (there is) no

جُنَاحَ

junāḥa

blame

عَلَيْكُمْ

ʿalaykum

upon you

إِن

in

if

كَانَ

kāna

was

بِكُمْ

bikum

with you

أَذًۭى

adhan

any trouble

مِّن

min

(because) of

مَّطَرٍ

maṭarin

rain

أَوْ

aw

or

كُنتُم

kuntum

you are

مَّرْضَىٰٓ

marḍā

sick

أَن

an

that

تَضَعُوٓا۟

taḍaʿū

you lay down

أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ ۖ

asliḥatakum

your arms

وَخُذُوا۟

wakhudhū

but take

حِذْرَكُمْ ۗ

ḥidh'rakum

your precautions

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

أَعَدَّ

aʿadda

has prepared

لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

lil'kāfirīna

for the disbelievers

عَذَابًۭا

ʿadhāban

a punishment

مُّهِينًۭا

muhīnan

humiliating

103

فَإِذَا قَضَيْتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ فَٱذْكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ قِيَـٰمًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِكُمْ‌ۚ فَإِذَا ٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْ فَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٲةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَـٰبًا مَّوْقُوتًا ﴿١٠٣﴾

فَإِذَا

fa-idhā

Then when

قَضَيْتُمُ

qaḍaytumu

you (have) finished

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ

l-ṣalata

the prayer

فَٱذْكُرُوا۟

fa-udh'kurū

then remember

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

قِيَـٰمًۭا

qiyāman

standing

وَقُعُودًۭا

waquʿūdan

and sitting

وَعَلَىٰ

waʿalā

and (lying) on

جُنُوبِكُمْ ۚ

junūbikum

your sides

فَإِذَا

fa-idhā

But when

ٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْ

iṭ'manantum

you are secure

فَأَقِيمُوا۟

fa-aqīmū

then establish

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۚ

l-ṣalata

the (regular) prayer

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ

l-ṣalata

the prayer

كَانَتْ

kānat

is

عَلَى

ʿalā

on

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

l-mu'minīna

the believers

كِتَـٰبًۭا

kitāban

prescribed

مَّوْقُوتًۭا

mawqūtan

(at) fixed times

104

وَلَا تَهِنُواْ فِى ٱبْتِغَآءِ ٱلْقَوْمِ‌ۖ إِن تَكُونُواْ تَأْلَمُونَ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْلَمُونَ كَمَا تَأْلَمُونَ‌ۖ وَتَرْجُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَرْجُونَ‌ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ﴿١٠٤﴾

And (do) not

تَهِنُوا۟

tahinū

be weak

فِى

in

ٱبْتِغَآءِ

ib'tighāi

pursuit

ٱلْقَوْمِ ۖ

l-qawmi

(of) the people

إِن

in

If

تَكُونُوا۟

takūnū

you are

تَأْلَمُونَ

talamūna

suffering

فَإِنَّهُمْ

fa-innahum

then indeed, they

يَأْلَمُونَ

yalamūna

are (also) suffering

كَمَا

kamā

like what

تَأْلَمُونَ ۖ

talamūna

you are suffering

وَتَرْجُونَ

watarjūna

while you (have) hope

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

مَا

what

لَا

not

يَرْجُونَ ۗ

yarjūna

they hope

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَلِيمًا

ʿalīman

All-Knowing

حَكِيمًا

ḥakīman

All-Wise

105

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِتَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِمَآ أَرَٮٰكَ ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ وَلَا تَكُن لِّلْخَآئِنِينَ خَصِيمًا ﴿١٠٥﴾

Word-by-word

إِنَّآ

innā

Indeed

أَنزَلْنَآ

anzalnā

We (have) sent down

إِلَيْكَ

ilayka

to you

ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ

l-kitāba

the Book

بِٱلْحَقِّ

bil-ḥaqi

with the truth

لِتَحْكُمَ

litaḥkuma

so that you may judge

بَيْنَ

bayna

between

ٱلنَّاسِ

l-nāsi

the people

بِمَآ

bimā

with what

أَرَىٰكَ

arāka

has shown you

ٱللَّهُ ۚ

l-lahu

Allah

وَلَا

walā

And (do) not

تَكُن

takun

be

لِّلْخَآئِنِينَ

lil'khāinīna

for the deceitful

خَصِيمًۭا

khaṣīman

a pleader

106

وَٱسْتَغْفِرِ ٱللَّهَ‌ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ﴿١٠٦﴾

Word-by-word

And seek forgiveness

ٱللَّهَ ۖ

(of) Allah

إِنَّ

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

Allah

كَانَ

ghafūran

Oft-Forgiving

رَّحِيمًۭا

raḥīman

Most Merciful

107

وَلَا تُجَـٰدِلْ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْتَانُونَ أَنفُسَهُمْ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ خَوَّانًا أَثِيمًا ﴿١٠٧﴾

Word-by-word

وَلَا

walā

And (do) not

تُجَـٰدِلْ

tujādil

argue

عَنِ

ʿani

for

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

يَخْتَانُونَ

yakhtānūna

deceive

أَنفُسَهُمْ ۚ

anfusahum

themselves

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

لَا

(does) not

يُحِبُّ

yuḥibbu

love

مَن

man

(the one) who

كَانَ

kāna

is

خَوَّانًا

khawwānan

treacherous

أَثِيمًۭا

athīman

(and) sinful

108

يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمْ إِذْ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لَا يَرْضَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ‌ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا ﴿١٠٨﴾

يَسْتَخْفُونَ

yastakhfūna

They seek to hide

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلنَّاسِ

l-nāsi

the people

وَلَا

walā

but not

يَسْتَخْفُونَ

yastakhfūna

(can) they hide

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

and He

مَعَهُمْ

maʿahum

(is) with them

إِذْ

idh

when

يُبَيِّتُونَ

yubayyitūna

they plot by night

مَا

what

لَا

not

يَرْضَىٰ

yarḍā

(does) he approve

مِنَ

mina

of

ٱلْقَوْلِ ۚ

l-qawli

the word

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

بِمَا

bimā

of what

يَعْمَلُونَ

yaʿmalūna

they do

مُحِيطًا

muḥīṭan

All-Encompassing

109

هَـٰٓأَنتُمْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ جَـٰدَلْتُمْ عَنْهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٲةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَمَن يُجَـٰدِلُ ٱللَّهَ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ أَم مَّن يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكِيلاً ﴿١٠٩﴾

Word-by-word

هَـٰٓأَنتُمْ

hāantum

Here you are

هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ

hāulāi

those who

جَـٰدَلْتُمْ

jādaltum

[you] argue

عَنْهُمْ

ʿanhum

for them

فِى

in

ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ

l-ḥayati

the life

ٱلدُّنْيَا

l-dun'yā

(of) the world

فَمَن

faman

but who

يُجَـٰدِلُ

yujādilu

will argue

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

(with) Allah

عَنْهُمْ

ʿanhum

for them

يَوْمَ

yawma

(on the) Day

ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

l-qiyāmati

(of) [the] Resurrection

أَم

am

or

مَّن

man

who

يَكُونُ

yakūnu

will be

عَلَيْهِمْ

ʿalayhim

[over them]

وَكِيلًۭا

wakīlan

(their) defender

110

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ سُوٓءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ ٱللَّهَ يَجِدِ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ﴿١١٠﴾

And whoever

يَعْمَلْ

yaʿmal

does

سُوٓءًا

sūan

evil

أَوْ

aw

or

يَظْلِمْ

yaẓlim

wrongs

نَفْسَهُۥ

nafsahu

his soul

ثُمَّ

يَسْتَغْفِرِ

yastaghfiri

seeks forgiveness

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

(of) Allah

يَجِدِ

yajidi

he will find

ٱللَّهَ

l-laha

Allah

غَفُورًۭا

ghafūran

Oft-Forgiving

رَّحِيمًۭا

raḥīman

Most Merciful

111

وَمَن يَكْسِبْ إِثْمًا فَإِنَّمَا يَكْسِبُهُۥ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ‌ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ﴿١١١﴾

Word-by-word

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

يَكْسِبْ

yaksib

earns

إِثْمًۭا

ith'man

sin

فَإِنَّمَا

fa-innamā

then only

يَكْسِبُهُۥ

yaksibuhu

he earns it

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

against

نَفْسِهِۦ ۚ

nafsihi

his soul

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَلِيمًا

ʿalīman

All-Knowing

حَكِيمًۭا

ḥakīman

All-Wise

112

وَمَن يَكْسِبْ خَطِيٓــَٔةً أَوْ إِثْمًا ثُمَّ يَرْمِ بِهِۦ بَرِيٓــًٔا فَقَدِ ٱحْتَمَلَ بُهْتَـٰنًا وَإِثْمًا مُّبِينًا ﴿١١٢﴾

Word-by-word

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

يَكْسِبْ

yaksib

earns

خَطِيٓـَٔةً

khaṭīatan

a fault

أَوْ

aw

or

إِثْمًۭا

ith'man

a sin

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

يَرْمِ

yarmi

throws

بِهِۦ

bihi

it

بَرِيٓـًۭٔا

barīan

(on) an innocent

فَقَدِ

faqadi

then surely

ٱحْتَمَلَ

iḥ'tamala

he (has) burdened (himself)

بُهْتَـٰنًۭا

buh'tānan

(with) a slander

وَإِثْمًۭا

wa-ith'man

and a sin

مُّبِينًۭا

mubīnan

manifest

113

وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَهَمَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ‌ۖ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِن شَىْءٍ‌ۚ وَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَكَ مَا لَمْ تَكُن تَعْلَمُ‌ۚ وَكَانَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ عَظِيمًا ﴿١١٣﴾

وَلَوْلَا

walawlā

And if not

فَضْلُ

faḍlu

(for the) Grace

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

عَلَيْكَ

ʿalayka

upon you

وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ

waraḥmatuhu

and His Mercy

لَهَمَّت

lahammat

surely (had) resolved

طَّآئِفَةٌۭ

ṭāifatun

a group

مِّنْهُمْ

min'hum

of them

أَن

an

to

يُضِلُّوكَ

yuḍillūka

mislead you

وَمَا

wamā

But not

يُضِلُّونَ

yuḍillūna

they mislead

إِلَّآ

illā

except

أَنفُسَهُمْ ۖ

anfusahum

themselves

وَمَا

wamā

and not

يَضُرُّونَكَ

yaḍurrūnaka

they will harm you

مِن

min

in

شَىْءٍۢ ۚ

shayin

anything

وَأَنزَلَ

wa-anzala

And has sent down

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

عَلَيْكَ

ʿalayka

to you

ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ

l-kitāba

the Book

وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ

wal-ḥik'mata

and [the] Wisdom

وَعَلَّمَكَ

waʿallamaka

and taught you

مَا

what

لَمْ

lam

not

تَكُن

takun

you did

تَعْلَمُ ۚ

taʿlamu

know

وَكَانَ

wakāna

And is

فَضْلُ

faḍlu

(the) Grace

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

عَلَيْكَ

ʿalayka

upon you

عَظِيمًۭا

ʿaẓīman

great

114

۞ لَّا خَيْرَ فِى كَثِيرٍ مِّن نَّجْوَٮٰهُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلَـٰحِۭ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ‌ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٲلِكَ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ﴿١١٤﴾

(There is) no

خَيْرَ

good

فِى

كَثِيرٍۢ

kathīrin

much

مِّن

min

of

نَّجْوَىٰهُمْ

najwāhum

their secret talk

إِلَّا

illā

except

مَنْ

man

(he) who

أَمَرَ

amara

orders

بِصَدَقَةٍ

biṣadaqatin

charity

أَوْ

aw

or

مَعْرُوفٍ

maʿrūfin

kindness

أَوْ

aw

or

إِصْلَـٰحٍۭ

iṣ'lāḥin

conciliation

بَيْنَ

bayna

between

ٱلنَّاسِ ۚ

l-nāsi

the people

وَمَن

waman

And who

يَفْعَلْ

yafʿal

does

ذَٰلِكَ

dhālika

that

ٱبْتِغَآءَ

ib'tighāa

seeking

مَرْضَاتِ

marḍāti

pleasure

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

فَسَوْفَ

fasawfa

then soon

نُؤْتِيهِ

nu'tīhi

We will give him

أَجْرًا

ajran

a reward

عَظِيمًۭا

ʿaẓīman

great

115

وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِۦ مَا تَوَلَّىٰ وَنُصْلِهِۦ جَهَنَّمَ‌ۖ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا ﴿١١٥﴾

waman

And whoever

يُشَاقِقِ

yushāqiqi

opposes

ٱلرَّسُولَ

l-rasūla

the Messenger

مِنۢ

min

from

بَعْدِ

baʿdi

after

مَا

what

تَبَيَّنَ

tabayyana

(has) become clear

لَهُ

lahu

to him

ٱلْهُدَىٰ

l-hudā

(of) the guidance

وَيَتَّبِعْ

wayattabiʿ

and he follows

غَيْرَ

ghayra

other than

سَبِيلِ

sabīli

(the) way

ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

l-mu'minīna

(of) the believers

نُوَلِّهِۦ

nuwallihi

We will turn him

مَا

(to) what

تَوَلَّىٰ

tawallā

he (has) turned

وَنُصْلِهِۦ

wanuṣ'lihi

and We will burn him

جَهَنَّمَ ۖ

jahannama

(in) Hell

وَسَآءَتْ

wasāat

and evil it is

مَصِيرًا

maṣīran

(as) a destination

116

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٲلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ‌ۚ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَـٰلاَۢ بَعِيدًا ﴿١١٦﴾

wayaghfiru

but He forgives

مَا

other than

ذَٰلِكَ

dhālika

that

لِمَن

liman

for whom

يَشَآءُ ۚ

yashāu

He wills

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-lahi

with Allah

فَقَدْ

faqad

then surely

ضَلَّ

ḍalla

he lost (the) way

ضَلَـٰلًۢا

ḍalālan

straying

بَعِيدًا

baʿīdan

far away

117

إِن يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ إِنَـٰثًا وَإِن يَدْعُونَ إِلَّا شَيْطَـٰنًا مَّرِيدًا ﴿١١٧﴾

لَّعَنَهُ ٱللَّهُ‌ۘ وَقَالَ لَأَتَّخِذَنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ نَصِيبًا مَّفْرُوضًا ﴿١١٨﴾

119

وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْ وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُمْ وَلَأَمُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ ءَاذَانَ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ وَلَأَمُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ وَمَن يَتَّخِذِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ وَلِيًّا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ خَسِرَ خُسْرَانًا مُّبِينًا ﴿١١٩﴾

Word-by-word

وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْ

wala-uḍillannahum

And I will surely mislead them

وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُمْ

wala-umanniyannahum

and surely arouse desires in them

وَلَـَٔامُرَنَّهُمْ

walaāmurannahum

and surely I will order them

فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ

falayubattikunna

so they will surely cut off

ءَاذَانَ

ādhāna

(the) ears

ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ

l-anʿāmi

(of) the cattle

وَلَـَٔامُرَنَّهُمْ

walaāmurannahum

and surely I will order them

فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ

falayughayyirunna

so they will surely change

خَلْقَ

khalqa

(the) creation

ٱللَّهِ ۚ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

يَتَّخِذِ

yattakhidhi

takes

ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ

l-shayṭāna

the Shaitaan

وَلِيًّۭا

waliyyan

(as) a friend

مِّن

min

from

دُونِ

dūni

besides

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

فَقَدْ

faqad

then surely

خَسِرَ

khasira

he (has) lost

خُسْرَانًۭا

khus'rānan

a loss

مُّبِينًۭا

mubīnan

manifest

120

يَعِدُهُمْ وَيُمَنِّيهِمْ‌ۖ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا ﴿١٢٠﴾

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَٮٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ عَنْهَا مَحِيصًا ﴿١٢١﴾

Those

مَأْوَىٰهُمْ

جَهَنَّمُ

وَلَا

يَجِدُونَ

122

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا‌ۖ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقًّا‌ۚ وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ قِيلاً ﴿١٢٢﴾

وَٱلَّذِينَ

wa-alladhīna

And those who

ءَامَنُوا۟

āmanū

believe[d]

وَعَمِلُوا۟

waʿamilū

and do

ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ

l-ṣāliḥāti

[the] righteous deeds

سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ

sanud'khiluhum

We will admit them

جَنَّـٰتٍۢ

jannātin

(in) Gardens

تَجْرِى

tajrī

flow

مِن

min

from

تَحْتِهَا

taḥtihā

underneath it

ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ

l-anhāru

the rivers

خَـٰلِدِينَ

khālidīna

will abide

فِيهَآ

fīhā

in it

أَبَدًۭا ۖ

abadan

forever

وَعْدَ

waʿda

A Promise

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

حَقًّۭا ۚ

ḥaqqan

(in) truth

وَمَنْ

waman

and who

أَصْدَقُ

aṣdaqu

(is) truer

مِنَ

mina

than

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

قِيلًۭا

qīlan

(in) statement

123

لَّيْسَ بِأَمَانِيِّكُمْ وَلَآ أَمَانِىِّ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ‌ۗ مَن يَعْمَلْ سُوٓءًا يُجْزَ بِهِۦ وَلَا يَجِدْ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا ﴿١٢٣﴾

ٱللَّهِ

Allah

وَلِيًّۭا

waliyyan

any protector

وَلَا

walā

and not

نَصِيرًۭا

naṣīran

any helper

124

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ مِن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ نَقِيرًا ﴿١٢٤﴾

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

يَعْمَلْ

yaʿmal

does

مِنَ

mina

[of]

ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ

l-ṣāliḥāti

[the] righteous deeds

أُنثَىٰ

وَهُوَ

and he

مُؤْمِنٌۭ

then those

يَدْخُلُونَ

yadkhulūna

will enter

ٱلْجَنَّةَ

l-janata

Paradise

وَلَا

walā

and not

يُظْلَمُونَ

yuẓ'lamūna

they will be wronged

نَقِيرًۭا

naqīran

(even as much as) the speck on a date-seed

125

وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًا مِّمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ وَٱتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٲهِيمَ حَنِيفًا‌ۗ وَٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ إِبْرَٲهِيمَ خَلِيلاً ﴿١٢٥﴾

(in) religion

إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

ib'rāhīma

(of) Ibrahim

حَنِيفًۭا ۗ

ḥanīfan

(the) upright

وَٱتَّخَذَ

wa-ittakhadha

And was taken

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(by) Allah

إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

ib'rāhīma

Ibrahim

خَلِيلًۭا

khalīlan

(as) a friend
