ٱلْحَمْدُ

al-ḥamdu

(All) the praises and thanks

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

(be) to Allah

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

the One Who

خَلَقَ

khalaqa

created

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَٱلْأَرْضَ

wal-arḍa

and the earth

وَجَعَلَ

wajaʿala

and made

ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ

l-ẓulumāti

the darkness[es]

وَٱلنُّورَ ۖ

wal-nūra

and the light

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

بِرَبِّهِمْ

birabbihim

in their Lord

يَعْدِلُونَ

yaʿdilūna

equate others with Him

هُوَ

huwa

He

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

(is) the One Who

خَلَقَكُم

khalaqakum

created you

مِّن

min

from

طِينٍۢ

ṭīnin

clay

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

قَضَىٰٓ

qaḍā

He decreed

أَجَلًۭا ۖ

ajalan

a term

وَأَجَلٌۭ

wa-ajalun

and a term

مُّسَمًّى

musamman

specified

عِندَهُۥ ۖ

ʿindahu

with Him

ثُمَّ

thumma

yet

أَنتُمْ

antum

you

تَمْتَرُونَ

tamtarūna

doubt

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

And He

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

(is) Allah

فِى

fī

in

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَفِى

wafī

and in

ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ

l-arḍi

the earth

يَعْلَمُ

yaʿlamu

He knows

سِرَّكُمْ

sirrakum

your secret

وَجَهْرَكُمْ

wajahrakum

and what you make public

وَيَعْلَمُ

wayaʿlamu

and He knows

مَا

mā

what

تَكْسِبُونَ

taksibūna

you earn

وَمَا

wamā

And not

تَأْتِيهِم

tatīhim

comes to them

مِّنْ

min

[of]

ءَايَةٍۢ

āyatin

any sign

مِّنْ

min

from

ءَايَـٰتِ

āyāti

(the) Signs

رَبِّهِمْ

rabbihim

(of) their Lord

إِلَّا

illā

but

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they are

عَنْهَا

ʿanhā

from it

مُعْرِضِينَ

muʿ'riḍīna

turning away

فَقَدْ

faqad

Then indeed

كَذَّبُوا۟

kadhabū

they denied

بِٱلْحَقِّ

bil-ḥaqi

the truth

لَمَّا

lammā

when

جَآءَهُمْ ۖ

jāahum

it came to them

فَسَوْفَ

fasawfa

but soon

يَأْتِيهِمْ

yatīhim

will come to them

أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟

anbāu

news

مَا

mā

(of) what

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they used to

بِهِۦ

bihi

[at it]

يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

yastahziūna

mock

أَلَمْ

alam

Did not

يَرَوْا۟

yaraw

they see

كَمْ

kam

how many

أَهْلَكْنَا

ahlaknā

We destroyed

مِن

min

from

قَبْلِهِم

qablihim

before them

مِّن

min

of

قَرْنٍۢ

qarnin

generations

مَّكَّنَّـٰهُمْ

makkannāhum

We had established them

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

the earth

مَا

mā

what

لَمْ

lam

not

نُمَكِّن

numakkin

We (have) established

لَّكُمْ

lakum

for you

وَأَرْسَلْنَا

wa-arsalnā

And We sent

ٱلسَّمَآءَ

l-samāa

(rain from) the sky

عَلَيْهِم

ʿalayhim

upon them

مِّدْرَارًۭا

mid'rāran

showering abundantly

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

and We made

ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَ

l-anhāra

the rivers

تَجْرِى

tajrī

flow

مِن

min

from

تَحْتِهِمْ

taḥtihim

underneath them

فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُم

fa-ahlaknāhum

Then We destroyed them

بِذُنُوبِهِمْ

bidhunūbihim

for their sins

وَأَنشَأْنَا

wa-anshanā

and We raised

مِنۢ

min

from

بَعْدِهِمْ

baʿdihim

after them

قَرْنًا

qarnan

generations

ءَاخَرِينَ

ākharīna

other

وَلَوْ

walaw

And (even) if

نَزَّلْنَا

nazzalnā

We (had) sent down

عَلَيْكَ

ʿalayka

to you

كِتَـٰبًۭا

kitāban

a written Scripture

فِى

fī

in

قِرْطَاسٍۢ

qir'ṭāsin

a parchment

فَلَمَسُوهُ

falamasūhu

and they touched it

بِأَيْدِيهِمْ

bi-aydīhim

with their hands

لَقَالَ

laqāla

surely (would) have said

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوٓا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

إِنْ

in

Not

هَـٰذَآ

hādhā

(is) this

إِلَّا

illā

but

سِحْرٌۭ

siḥ'run

magic

مُّبِينٌۭ

mubīnun

clear

وَقَالُوا۟

waqālū

And they said

لَوْلَآ

lawlā

Why has not been

أُنزِلَ

unzila

sent down

عَلَيْهِ

ʿalayhi

to him

مَلَكٌۭ ۖ

malakun

an Angel

وَلَوْ

walaw

And if

أَنزَلْنَا

anzalnā

We (had) sent down

مَلَكًۭا

malakan

an Angel

لَّقُضِىَ

laquḍiya

surely (would) have been decided

ٱلْأَمْرُ

l-amru

the matter

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

لَا

lā

no

يُنظَرُونَ

yunẓarūna

respite would have been granted to them

وَلَوْ

walaw

And if

جَعَلْنَـٰهُ

jaʿalnāhu

We had made him

مَلَكًۭا

malakan

an Angel

لَّجَعَلْنَـٰهُ

lajaʿalnāhu

certainly We (would) have made him

رَجُلًۭا

rajulan

a man

وَلَلَبَسْنَا

walalabasnā

and certainly We (would) have obscured

عَلَيْهِم

ʿalayhim

to them

مَّا

mā

what

يَلْبِسُونَ

yalbisūna

they are obscuring

وَلَقَدِ

walaqadi

And indeed

ٱسْتُهْزِئَ

us'tuh'zi-a

were mocked

بِرُسُلٍۢ

birusulin

Messengers

مِّن

min

from

قَبْلِكَ

qablika

before you

فَحَاقَ

faḥāqa

but surrounded

بِٱلَّذِينَ

bi-alladhīna

those who

سَخِرُوا۟

sakhirū

scoffed

مِنْهُم

min'hum

of them

مَّا

mā

what

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they used to

بِهِۦ

bihi

[at it]

يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

yastahziūna

mock

قُلْ

qul

Say

سِيرُوا۟

sīrū

Travel

فِى

fī

in

ٱلْأَرْضِ

l-arḍi

the earth

ثُمَّ

thumma

and

ٱنظُرُوا۟

unẓurū

see

كَيْفَ

kayfa

how

كَانَ

kāna

was

عَـٰقِبَةُ

ʿāqibatu

(the) end

ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

l-mukadhibīna

(of) the rejecters

قُل

qul

Say

لِّمَن

liman

To whom (belongs)

مَّا

mā

what

فِى

fī

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

the heavens

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ

wal-arḍi

and the earth

قُل

qul

Say

لِّلَّهِ ۚ

lillahi

To Allah

كَتَبَ

kataba

He has decreed

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

upon

نَفْسِهِ

nafsihi

Himself

ٱلرَّحْمَةَ ۚ

l-raḥmata

the Mercy

لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ

layajmaʿannakum

Surely He will assemble you

إِلَىٰ

ilā

on

يَوْمِ

yawmi

(the) Day

ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ

l-qiyāmati

(of) the Resurrection

لَا

lā

(there is) no

رَيْبَ

rayba

doubt

فِيهِ ۚ

fīhi

about it

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

Those who

خَسِرُوٓا۟

khasirū

have lost

أَنفُسَهُمْ

anfusahum

themselves

فَهُمْ

fahum

then they

لَا

lā

(do) not

يُؤْمِنُونَ

yu'minūna

believe

۞ وَلَهُۥ

walahu

And for Him

مَا

mā

(is) whatever

سَكَنَ

sakana

dwells

فِى

fī

in

ٱلَّيْلِ

al-layli

the night

وَٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ

wal-nahāri

and the day

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

and He

ٱلسَّمِيعُ

l-samīʿu

(is) All-Hearing

ٱلْعَلِيمُ

l-ʿalīmu

All-Knowing

قُلْ

qul

Say

أَغَيْرَ

aghayra

Is it other than

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

أَتَّخِذُ

attakhidhu

I (should) take

وَلِيًّۭا

waliyyan

(as) a protector

فَاطِرِ

fāṭiri

Creator

ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ

l-samāwāti

(of) the heavens

وَٱلْأَرْضِ

wal-arḍi

and the earth

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

while (it is) He

يُطْعِمُ

yuṭ'ʿimu

Who feeds

وَلَا

walā

and not

يُطْعَمُ ۗ

yuṭ'ʿamu

He is fed

قُلْ

qul

Say

إِنِّىٓ

innī

Indeed I

أُمِرْتُ

umir'tu

[I] am commanded

أَنْ

an

that

أَكُونَ

akūna

I be

أَوَّلَ

awwala

(the) first

مَنْ

man

who

أَسْلَمَ ۖ

aslama

submits (to Allah)

وَلَا

walā

and not

تَكُونَنَّ

takūnanna

be

مِنَ

mina

of

ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ

l-mush'rikīna

the polytheists

قُلْ

qul

Say

إِنِّىٓ

innī

Indeed, I

أَخَافُ

akhāfu

[I] fear

إِنْ

in

if

عَصَيْتُ

ʿaṣaytu

I disobeyed

رَبِّى

rabbī

my Lord

عَذَابَ

ʿadhāba

punishment

يَوْمٍ

yawmin

(of) a Day

عَظِيمٍۢ

ʿaẓīmin

Mighty

مَّن

man

Whoever

يُصْرَفْ

yuṣ'raf

is averted

عَنْهُ

ʿanhu

from it

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ

yawma-idhin

that Day

فَقَدْ

faqad

then surely

رَحِمَهُۥ ۚ

raḥimahu

He had Mercy on him

وَذَٰلِكَ

wadhālika

And that

ٱلْفَوْزُ

l-fawzu

(is) the success

ٱلْمُبِينُ

l-mubīnu

(the) clear

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

يَمْسَسْكَ

yamsaska

touches you

ٱللَّهُ

l-lahu

Allah

بِضُرٍّۢ

biḍurrin

with affliction

فَلَا

falā

then no

كَاشِفَ

kāshifa

remover

لَهُۥٓ

lahu

of it

إِلَّا

illā

except

هُوَ ۖ

huwa

Him

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

يَمْسَسْكَ

yamsaska

He touches you

بِخَيْرٍۢ

bikhayrin

with good

فَهُوَ

fahuwa

then He

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

(is) on

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَىْءٍۢ

shayin

thing

قَدِيرٌۭ

qadīrun

All-Powerful

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

And He

ٱلْقَاهِرُ

l-qāhiru

(is) the Subjugator

فَوْقَ

fawqa

over

عِبَادِهِۦ ۚ

ʿibādihi

His slaves

وَهُوَ

wahuwa

And He

ٱلْحَكِيمُ

l-ḥakīmu

(is) the All-Wise

ٱلْخَبِيرُ

l-khabīru

the All-Aware

قُلْ

qul

Say

أَىُّ

ayyu

What

شَىْءٍ

shayin

thing

أَكْبَرُ

akbaru

(is) greatest

شَهَـٰدَةًۭ ۖ

shahādatan

(as) a testimony

قُلِ

quli

Say

ٱللَّهُ ۖ

l-lahu

Allah

شَهِيدٌۢ

shahīdun

(is) Witness

بَيْنِى

baynī

between me

وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۚ

wabaynakum

and between you

وَأُوحِىَ

waūḥiya

and has been revealed

إِلَىَّ

ilayya

to me

هَـٰذَا

hādhā

this

ٱلْقُرْءَانُ

l-qur'ānu

[the] Quran

لِأُنذِرَكُم

li-undhirakum

that I may warn you

بِهِۦ

bihi

with it

وَمَنۢ

waman

and whoever

بَلَغَ ۚ

balagha

it reaches

أَئِنَّكُمْ

a-innakum

Do you truly

لَتَشْهَدُونَ

latashhadūna

testify

أَنَّ

anna

that

مَعَ

maʿa

with

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

ءَالِهَةً

ālihatan

(there are) gods

أُخْرَىٰ ۚ

ukh'rā

other

قُل

qul

Say

لَّآ

lā

Not

أَشْهَدُ ۚ

ashhadu

(do) I testify

قُلْ

qul

Say

إِنَّمَا

innamā

Only

هُوَ

huwa

He

إِلَـٰهٌۭ

ilāhun

(is) God

وَٰحِدٌۭ

wāḥidun

One

وَإِنَّنِى

wa-innanī

and indeed, I am

بَرِىٓءٌۭ

barīon

free

مِّمَّا

mimmā

of what

تُشْرِكُونَ

tush'rikūna

you associate (with Him)

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

Those (to) whom

ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ

ātaynāhumu

We have given them

ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ

l-kitāba

the Book

يَعْرِفُونَهُۥ

yaʿrifūnahu

they recognize him

كَمَا

kamā

as

يَعْرِفُونَ

yaʿrifūna

they recognize

أَبْنَآءَهُمُ ۘ

abnāahumu

their sons

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

Those who

خَسِرُوٓا۟

khasirū

lost

أَنفُسَهُمْ

anfusahum

themselves

فَهُمْ

fahum

then they

لَا

lā

(do) not

يُؤْمِنُونَ

yu'minūna

believe

وَمَنْ

waman

And who

أَظْلَمُ

aẓlamu

(is) more unjust

مِمَّنِ

mimmani

than (he) who

ٱفْتَرَىٰ

if'tarā

invents

عَلَى

ʿalā

against

ٱللَّهِ

l-lahi

Allah

كَذِبًا

kadhiban

a lie

أَوْ

aw

or

كَذَّبَ

kadhaba

rejects

بِـَٔايَـٰتِهِۦٓ ۗ

biāyātihi

His Signs

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed

لَا

lā

not

يُفْلِحُ

yuf'liḥu

will be successful

ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

l-ẓālimūna

the wrongdoers

وَيَوْمَ

wayawma

And (the) Day

نَحْشُرُهُمْ

naḥshuruhum

We will gather them

جَمِيعًۭا

jamīʿan

all

ثُمَّ

thumma

then

نَقُولُ

naqūlu

We will say

لِلَّذِينَ

lilladhīna

to those who

أَشْرَكُوٓا۟

ashrakū

associated others with Allah

أَيْنَ

ayna

Where (are)

شُرَكَآؤُكُمُ

shurakāukumu

your partners

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those whom

كُنتُمْ

kuntum

you used to

تَزْعُمُونَ

tazʿumūna

claim

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

لَمْ

lam

not

تَكُن

takun

will be

فِتْنَتُهُمْ

fit'natuhum

(for) them a plea

إِلَّآ

illā

except

أَن

an

that

قَالُوا۟

qālū

they say

وَٱللَّهِ

wal-lahi

By Allah

رَبِّنَا

rabbinā

our Lord

مَا

mā

not

كُنَّا

kunnā

we were

مُشْرِكِينَ

mush'rikīna

those who associated others (with Allah)

ٱنظُرْ

unẓur

Look

كَيْفَ

kayfa

how

كَذَبُوا۟

kadhabū

they lied

عَلَىٰٓ

ʿalā

against

أَنفُسِهِمْ ۚ

anfusihim

themselves

وَضَلَّ

waḍalla

And lost

عَنْهُم

ʿanhum

from them

مَّا

mā

what

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they used to

يَفْتَرُونَ

yaftarūna

invent

وَمِنْهُم

wamin'hum

And among them

مَّن

man

(are those) who

يَسْتَمِعُ

yastamiʿu

listen

إِلَيْكَ ۖ

ilayka

to you

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

but We have placed

عَلَىٰ

ʿalā

over

قُلُوبِهِمْ

qulūbihim

their hearts

أَكِنَّةً

akinnatan

coverings

أَن

an

lest

يَفْقَهُوهُ

yafqahūhu

they understand it

وَفِىٓ

wafī

and in

ءَاذَانِهِمْ

ādhānihim

their ears

وَقْرًۭا ۚ

waqran

deafness

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

يَرَوْا۟

yaraw

they see

كُلَّ

kulla

every

ءَايَةٍۢ

āyatin

sign

لَّا

lā

not

يُؤْمِنُوا۟

yu'minū

will they believe

بِهَا ۚ

bihā

in it

حَتَّىٰٓ

ḥattā

Until

إِذَا

idhā

when

جَآءُوكَ

jāūka

they come to you

يُجَـٰدِلُونَكَ

yujādilūnaka

and argue with you

يَقُولُ

yaqūlu

say

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوٓا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

إِنْ

in

Not

هَـٰذَآ

hādhā

(is) this

إِلَّآ

illā

but

أَسَـٰطِيرُ

asāṭīru

(the) tales

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

l-awalīna

(of) the former (people)
