Alif Laam Ra

تِلْكَ

til'ka

These

ءَايَـٰتُ

āyātu

(are) the Verses

ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ

l-kitābi

(of) the Book

وَقُرْءَانٍۢ

waqur'ānin

and Quran

مُّبِينٍۢ

mubīnin

clear

رُّبَمَا

rubamā

Perhaps

يَوَدُّ

yawaddu

will wish

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhīna

those who

كَفَرُوا۟

kafarū

disbelieved

لَوْ

law

if

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they had been

مُسْلِمِينَ

mus'limīna

Muslims

ذَرْهُمْ

dharhum

Leave them

يَأْكُلُوا۟

yakulū

(to) eat

وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟

wayatamattaʿū

and enjoy

وَيُلْهِهِمُ

wayul'hihimu

and diverted them

ٱلْأَمَلُ ۖ

l-amalu

the hope

فَسَوْفَ

fasawfa

then soon

يَعْلَمُونَ

yaʿlamūna

they will come to know

وَمَآ

wamā

And not

أَهْلَكْنَا

ahlaknā

We destroyed

مِن

min

any

قَرْيَةٍ

qaryatin

town

إِلَّا

illā

but

وَلَهَا

walahā

(there was) for it

كِتَابٌۭ

kitābun

a decree

مَّعْلُومٌۭ

maʿlūmun

known

مَّا

mā

Not

تَسْبِقُ

tasbiqu

(can) advance

مِنْ

min

any

أُمَّةٍ

ummatin

nation

أَجَلَهَا

ajalahā

its term

وَمَا

wamā

and not

يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ

yastakhirūna

(can) delay it

وَقَالُوا۟

waqālū

And they say

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

yāayyuhā

O you

ٱلَّذِى

alladhī

(to) whom

نُزِّلَ

nuzzila

has been sent down

عَلَيْهِ

ʿalayhi

[on him]

ٱلذِّكْرُ

l-dhik'ru

the Reminder

إِنَّكَ

innaka

indeed, you

لَمَجْنُونٌۭ

lamajnūnun

(are) surely mad

لَّوْ

law

Why

مَا

mā

not

تَأْتِينَا

tatīnā

you bring to us

بِٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ

bil-malāikati

the Angels

إِن

in

if

كُنتَ

kunta

you are

مِنَ

mina

of

ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

l-ṣādiqīna

the truthful

مَا

mā

Not

نُنَزِّلُ

nunazzilu

We send down

ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ

l-malāikata

the Angels

إِلَّا

illā

except

بِٱلْحَقِّ

bil-ḥaqi

with the truth

وَمَا

wamā

and not

كَانُوٓا۟

kānū

they would be

إِذًۭا

idhan

then

مُّنظَرِينَ

munẓarīna

given respite

إِنَّا

innā

Indeed, We

نَحْنُ

naḥnu

We

نَزَّلْنَا

nazzalnā

have sent down

ٱلذِّكْرَ

l-dhik'ra

the Reminder

وَإِنَّا

wa-innā

and indeed, We

لَهُۥ

lahu

of it

لَحَـٰفِظُونَ

laḥāfiẓūna

(are) surely Guardians

وَلَقَدْ

walaqad

And certainly

أَرْسَلْنَا

arsalnā

We (had) sent

مِن

min

before you

قَبْلِكَ

qablika

before you

فِى

fī

in

شِيَعِ

shiyaʿi

the sects

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

l-awalīna

(of) the former (people)

وَمَا

wamā

And not

يَأْتِيهِم

yatīhim

came to them

مِّن

min

any

رَّسُولٍ

rasūlin

Messenger

إِلَّا

illā

but

كَانُوا۟

kānū

they did

بِهِۦ

bihi

at him

يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

yastahziūna

mock

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhālika

Thus

نَسْلُكُهُۥ

naslukuhu

We let it enter

فِى

fī

in

قُلُوبِ

qulūbi

(the) hearts

ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

l-muj'rimīna

(of) the criminals

لَا

lā

Not

يُؤْمِنُونَ

yu'minūna

they believe

بِهِۦ ۖ

bihi

in it

وَقَدْ

waqad

and verily

خَلَتْ

khalat

have passed

سُنَّةُ

sunnatu

the way(s)

ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

l-awalīna

(of) the former (people)

وَلَوْ

walaw

And (even) if

فَتَحْنَا

fataḥnā

We opened

عَلَيْهِم

ʿalayhim

to them

بَابًۭا

bāban

a gate

مِّنَ

mina

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

l-samāi

the heaven

فَظَلُّوا۟

faẓallū

and they were to continue

فِيهِ

fīhi

therein

يَعْرُجُونَ

yaʿrujūna

(to) ascend

لَقَالُوٓا۟

laqālū

They would surely say

إِنَّمَا

innamā

Only

سُكِّرَتْ

sukkirat

have been dazzled

أَبْصَـٰرُنَا

abṣārunā

our eyes

بَلْ

bal

Nay

نَحْنُ

naḥnu

we

قَوْمٌۭ

qawmun

(are) a people

مَّسْحُورُونَ

masḥūrūna

bewitched

وَلَقَدْ

walaqad

And verily

جَعَلْنَا

jaʿalnā

We have placed

فِى

fī

in

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

l-samāi

the heavens

بُرُوجًۭا

burūjan

constellations

وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا

wazayyannāhā

and We have beautified it

لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ

lilnnāẓirīna

for the observers

وَحَفِظْنَـٰهَا

waḥafiẓ'nāhā

And We have protected it

مِن

min

from

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَيْطَـٰنٍۢ

shayṭānin

devil

رَّجِيمٍ

rajīmin

accursed

إِلَّا

illā

Except

مَنِ

mani

(one) who

ٱسْتَرَقَ

is'taraqa

steals

ٱلسَّمْعَ

l-samʿa

the hearing

فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ

fa-atbaʿahu

then follows him

شِهَابٌۭ

shihābun

a burning flame

مُّبِينٌۭ

mubīnun

clear

وَٱلْأَرْضَ

wal-arḍa

And the earth

مَدَدْنَـٰهَا

madadnāhā

We have spread it

وَأَلْقَيْنَا

wa-alqaynā

and [We] cast

فِيهَا

fīhā

therein

رَوَٰسِىَ

rawāsiya

firm mountains

وَأَنۢبَتْنَا

wa-anbatnā

and [We] caused to grow

فِيهَا

fīhā

therein

مِن

min

of

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَىْءٍۢ

shayin

thing

مَّوْزُونٍۢ

mawzūnin

well-balanced

وَجَعَلْنَا

wajaʿalnā

And We have made

لَكُمْ

lakum

for you

فِيهَا

fīhā

therein

مَعَـٰيِشَ

maʿāyisha

means of living

وَمَن

waman

and whom

لَّسْتُمْ

lastum

you are not

لَهُۥ

lahu

for him

بِرَٰزِقِينَ

birāziqīna

providers

وَإِن

wa-in

And not

مِّن

min

(is) any

شَىْءٍ

shayin

thing

إِلَّا

illā

but

عِندَنَا

ʿindanā

with Us

خَزَآئِنُهُۥ

khazāinuhu

(are) its treasures

وَمَا

wamā

and not

نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ

nunazziluhu

We send it down

إِلَّا

illā

except

بِقَدَرٍۢ

biqadarin

in a measure

مَّعْلُومٍۢ

maʿlūmin

known

وَأَرْسَلْنَا

wa-arsalnā

And We have sent

ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ

l-riyāḥa

the winds

لَوَٰقِحَ

lawāqiḥa

fertilizing

فَأَنزَلْنَا

fa-anzalnā

and We sent down

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

l-samāi

the sky

مَآءًۭ

māan

water

فَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُمُوهُ

fa-asqaynākumūhu

and We gave it to you to drink

وَمَآ

wamā

And not

أَنتُمْ

antum

you

لَهُۥ

lahu

of it

بِخَـٰزِنِينَ

bikhāzinīna

(are) retainers

وَإِنَّا

wa-innā

And indeed, We

لَنَحْنُ

lanaḥnu

surely [We]

نُحْىِۦ

nuḥ'yī

We give life

وَنُمِيتُ

wanumītu

and We cause death

وَنَحْنُ

wanaḥnu

and We

ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ

l-wārithūna

(are) the Inheritors

وَلَقَدْ

walaqad

And verily

عَلِمْنَا

ʿalim'nā

We know

ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ

l-mus'taqdimīna

the preceding ones

مِنكُمْ

minkum

among you

وَلَقَدْ

walaqad

and verily

عَلِمْنَا

ʿalim'nā

We know

ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَ

l-mus'takhirīna

the later ones

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

رَبَّكَ

rabbaka

your Lord

هُوَ

huwa

He

يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ

yaḥshuruhum

will gather them

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed, He

حَكِيمٌ

ḥakīmun

(is) All-Wise

عَلِيمٌۭ

ʿalīmun

All-Knowing
